If frost is the white one then yes I have it. The color is holding up ID say better than a few black ones I've seen.

It's impossible to anodize aluminum white, so the frost color has to be be some sort of coating... but I own a black one so I can't tell you how well it holds up.
I'm wondering how the finish will hold up....is the color impregnated into the metal or is it coating?

Is it a coated surface

no its not coated. It feels metal just like the black and silver
I have a 64GB Frost and I absolutely love the color. It has a premium feel to it, not a plastic feel at all. I have mine in a case, so maybe my longevity is different than someone not using a case, but I've not seen any issues thus far with the color. It still looks, feels, and acts like new.
A coworker has it and it definitely feels different than my silver. His has held up well and all he uses is a bumper case. He's had it about 4 months.
No concerns of longevity from him.
How is it different feeling than the silver? I just ordered the aluminum and it should be arriving Wednesday.

The closest I can think of is that it feels like matte vinyl. Obviously that's not what it is, but that's the easiest way to explain it.
Aluminum feels like what you expect if you've ever held an iPhone or HTC M7/M8.
