Hi Folks:

I got the EMEA version of the Note 9 SM-960FD dual SIM, primarily for having the dual SIM. It was also for an amazing price.

I'm getting a decent LTE signal on Band 12 and the rest of T-Mobile's I can't find any setting for Voice Over LTE. Seems like T-Mobile turns the option off or I'm somehow not finding it. Any ideas other than putting a custom ROM on?

Thanks

Nope. Unless you can find a custom ROM for the FD for TMobile (you can't use the one for the U for TMobile). you can't.

Since that's the international model bootloader is unlocked, XDA will have custom ROMs for that version.
It will work with GSM carrier like TMobile and Att but won't take advantage of carrier enabled features you get from US branded ones . I'm not sure if Samsung pay will work either you'll have to try that out.

Thanks folks. Right now, I think WiFi calling is working. Samsung Pay, surprisingly is working. Bixby is working (but I've disabled it using Package Disabler Pro).

The only feature that isn't working and is giving me pause is VoLTE. I should say that I don't know for a fact that it isn't working. My signal has been ok so far. I just can't find it anywhere in the settings and assume it isn't because of that. I'll probably give it a week to see how it fares. I really enjoy the phone a lot and the dual SIM is great.

Its between this and the iPhone XSMax I've been using since that came out. Since I use a Mac as my daily driver and the Apple Watch 4 is very nice, I surprisingly like the iPhone. But I miss the pen and how accurately you can select things with it, I miss dual screen apps, and this thing's screen is just unbeatable.

I'll keep you updated.

Cheers

Might be because that version can't display VOLTe but could be wrong

Dual SIM phones are awesome
Hope you like it and enjoy it , also have iPhone x which is a great device.
Keep us posted .. cheers

I think the only carrier left that doesn't use VoLTE is Sprint. AT&T dropped 2G a couple of years ago, and everyone but sprint has also. So the odds are that when you're on a call, you're on LTE - because there's no other choice.

I returned the Note 9 dual Sim. It wouldn't use VoLTE because T-Mobile has to register it on their network to support it, and they refused to do that. They'll only do that with the T-Mobile variant (automatically), or the US unlocked version. I'm not happy with them. Their solution for dual Sim is the Digits app, which frankly sucks. Really annoyed that I can't use such a great deal on T-Mobile. I'm back on my iPhone for now, and trying to decide whether to get a T-Mobile or US Unlocked Note 9 - obviously nowhere near as good of a deal.
