Anyone having issues with SD Card, images

So I loaded some TV show videos onto my X last week to watch during the commute and for some reason they went missing after I connected to the laptop to root it last week (I also get a windows error message saying there is something wrong with the SD card and windows needs to scan it but I usually just skip it). So this morning I reloaded some stuff on there and now I notice some video I've taken with the phone is now gone along with quite a few pictures.

There doesn't seem to be a particular time frame that are gone either. random


Could the SD card be bad? Or is this an issue with windows screwing up something? (windows vista)

Are you looking for them using the gallery program on the phone? If so, try Astro explorer - see if they show up using that. For some reason, there seems to be certain limitations either # or size-wise that the gallery program will display or acknowledge from the SD card. Ive had images I know I downloaded not be visible in Gallery, yet show up on the SD card when I looke using Astro.

as for windows error - I use vista, and never saw that error; it can read my SD card fine. so it could be something wrong with the SD card as well...

Thanks for the info, yeah I have astro and tried searching with the 'jpg' qualifier with no luck either...I guess I'll backup the SD card and try formatting it this evening.

before formatting, try letting windows scan and fix any errors on the card

I got around to hooking it up last night and letting it scan it, found no errors. Now I'm thinking it may have something to do with the folder I'm using ???

It's the 'Video' one and for some reason again I added more videos to it last night and this morning when I went to use it the 3 files that were in that folder are gone and only the two new ones are there.

I'll make another folder called 'my videos' or something and see what happens...

I actually just came on to look for anyone else having this issue.

I had a picture dissapear on my today. Probably part of the leaked 2.2

The whole "windows needs to scan this device" etc and what not is definitely 2.2 related, as I was only getting it on that.

I did a scan and backed up/formatted my card and haven't had any problems since. I think it might be related to the DCIM folder, possibly.

Have any of you guys experiencing this problem taken pictures/videos with the phone?

I lost some images and videos that were taken with the phone. I am uploading them to picasa now to be safe. I reloaded some tv shows last night and put them in a new folder so I'll monitor that to see how it goes.

I'd like to know if anyone can help with this also. I have one image that was 'lost' but it is still on my gallery widget screen, I've tried searching for it with Astro without luck. I can see it there, open it full screen etc to try and save or see properties but nothing happens in the widget when you open it and hit the menu button. Any idea how images are stored within the widget? It's a great pic of my kid so I'd like to recover it.
