Anyone having problems with Gallery Photos not backing up to Google Photos?

I had a problem when I initially set up the phone and spent about an hour on the phone with Verizon techs the last of whom figured out that I wasn't using the app but was reaching Google Photos through Chrome, so he had me uninstall and reinstall the Google Photos app.

It worked for a while and then I noticed photos weren't backing up so I removed the app and then went to Play Store to reinstall it - but apparently I hadn't really uninstalled it because it just showed "Open" and then the number of pictures to be uploaded showed and it began to sync.

Just wondering if anyone else is having problems with Google Photos syncing.

Open your Google Photos app, tap Menu>Device Folders, and look at all of the folders there. Any folder that has a cloud with a line through it means they're not syncing -- you can tap the cloud icon to turn on sync for that folder.

Also, look in the Google Photos app settings to make sure your Backup & Sync is turned on in the first place, and check to see if it's set for only wi-fi, or for mobile data as well (although I wouldn't recommend the latter unless you have an unlimited data plan).

Big help, B. Diddy! Thank you so much - I didn't know about that folder and that I could get other albums, such as Snapseed, to sync with Google Photos. That'll be a big help. Thanks!
