Anyone having problems with watch being 'OFFLINE'?

The latest update helps a lot! It's not collected 100%, but if was at 70% before the update, it's at 95% now, I would say.

This. I was having this issue with my Nexus 5 on a daily basis (only had it for 2 weeks)...with 5.0.2 it seems to not disconnect anymore. If you find it disconnects from your phone just toggle the Bluetooth, it reconnects instantly.

Hmm, I rarely had disconnects with my Nexus 5, even before 5.0.2. That was only a big issue on the initial release, for me. And I would know, I installed the *wonderful* "Wear Aware" app. Best app EVER for the 360- and it has saved me from leaving my phone somewhere at least three times now. (Off topic: second best app ever? Attopedia!)

I have a Samsung Gear Live and had this issue after doing a factory reset for my Galaxy Note4. At first I thought it was just a Bluetooth or pairing matter which is not the case of course. What I did is I reset the watch re-paired it with the phone plus reinstalled the Android Wear app. The crossed-out cloud disappeared and the watch was online again responding to my voice commands, etc.

I had problems when I switched from my Nexus 5 to Nexus 6, even though I had done a reset on the watch. I did this: What to do when the 360 misbehaves - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com
and haven't had any problems since. That thread should be a sticky!

:)

Yeah, there can be some strange stuff left on the phone and/or watch in some situations that just cause really unpredictable results. I stumbled across what I think works as a solution, most of the time, by just trial-and-accident.

all this nonsense with troubleshooting and I come to find out that my daughter switched off my mobile data. It was working intermittently whenever my phone picked up wifi.

switched mobile data back on and problem solved for me anyway. Hope my bone-headedness helps someone else avoid the frustration in trying to figure it out.

Quick fix: open android wear app and press settings button at top of screen. Press "resync apps". No more "no cloud" icon. :)

I believe I have found the solution that will solve the problem for most users...

Apparently having a bluetooth connection into the phone with an android wear device doesn't negate the restrictions google now puts on "Ok google" commands. One thing you can try to open up the moto 360's access to google now is to on google now voice through bluetooth headset. On your phone open the "Google Settings" app and then navigate to "Search & Now" -> "Voice" and enable the "Bluetooth Headset" setting. You may also have to check the "Hands-free" setting (Search&Now->Voice->Hands-free) to ensure "For bluetooth devices" is enabled as well.

This corrected the problem for me, though if you are still having issues and are a user who uses a lock screen on your phone but still want to use "Ok Google" through the moto 360 watch you may also have to enable search "From any screen"/"From the google app or home screen" depending on your circumstances and needs. One of these restrictions is to not allow "Ok Google" commands when the mobile phone is locked by default. You can change this however. On your phone open the "Google Settings" app and then navigate to "Search & Now"->Voice->"Ok Google" detection. From there you can turn on ok google from home screen/google app, from any screen and allow for personal results when the device is locked "securely". Again you may not have to change any of these settings depending on your circumstances.

Hope this helps others as this was a very annoying issue for me until now.

I too noticed that the watch (Samsung Gear Live) went offline when I disconnected from Wifi. I found that I had restricted background (mobile) data to the google search app. When I allowed background data the problem was completely resolved. Hope this helps. It was really annoying. Thanks!

Thanks, this was my problem. I had forgotten the fact that I had turned off background data for the google search app.

So, Had this issue on my Gen 1 360... it WILL respond to the "Ok Google" command, and it DOES pick up sounds (little grey circle modulates under the red "G" circle in the search screen). But, it never puts words on the screen, then gives slashcloud.

IF it occasionally works, it takes FOREVER to recognize and load data.

Troubleshoot with Moto Tech on phone..., (reset watch, reset ALL google and Moto apps on phone, no luck)
They offered to ship a replacement. Used GSP at Best Buy to upgrade to Gen 2. (a NIGHTMARE of a process, btw, NEVER buy those things)

Got it paired and updated. SAME EXACT ISSUE. Different Generation of the hardware, and brand new device.

Level 1 tech asks if I use Gas Buddy... says there's a known clash with that. I don't. Waiting for a level 3 tech to call back (yeah right).
At this point, I think it's safe to say there's a software clash in the software in the phone... if anyone would have info, please update.

Btw, Verizon Sony Xperia Z3v

I had the same problem where my moto 360 gen2 always went offline when I used the "speak now" function.
Solved it by uninstallning Motorola Connect.

I guess motorola connect interferes with the app somehow.

I was having the same problem. I kept having a pop up for date and time and I was ignoring it what popped up again and I checked all the boxes then made sure that the date was set for regional and now voice commands are back. I can google with no problem. Someone in the conversation string down below suggested deleting apps I didn't have to do any of that thank goodness. Not sure if this is just a glitch we'll see.

Ugh. I had this issue for over a year on my 1st gen 360 and figured it was just one of those 360 problems. Then I bought a Huawei watch and still had it. It was the fricking moto connect app causing it. That will **** you off.

I'm having same problem, only that I probed further and found that anytime I see the crossed out cloud, the Wi-Fi option on my watch setting isn't there. Plus is now a permanent issue even after reinstalling and restarting. The watch had the latest update, but the most unfortunate function path.

Not a moto 360 so be prepared to tell me this is cack, but I reckon it's a google issue anyway. I had the similar issue with LG Urbane. "OK Google" command works but anything said is not recognised.

To fix, I cleared data and cache from Google Now app on phone (using application manager) and then went into Android Wear on phone. It prompted me again for my google settings so I confirmed them and now it works like a dream.

try to turn off power saving and it should work

YES! This worked! I've been googling this for hours! I still have power saving on but I went into the settings and turned off the part in power saving which disables certain features like wifi and notifications etc and that worked. Thanks

So, I've been having this issue where I tap my Moto360's screen for the 'Google Now' screen to appear, but instead I will get an 'OFFLINE' message with a crossed-out cloud and it won't take any voice commands.

Sometimes it stays offline for seconds, sometimes for minutes, sometimes I have to restart it.

This has been happening repeatedly during the day, although my devices (Moto360-Nexus4, everything up to date) seem to be paired fine, every connection available and working fine.

Does anyone have this same problem? or know what could be the issue? (Phone or Watch)?

Thanks,
