Anyone having trouble with proximity sensor while on phone call on base S21?

Doesn't seem to be any specific place where I can put my phone in relation to my face to make the display shut off. I end up hanging up, requesting video call, etc. with my cheek while on a call. Anyone know where the proximity sensor is in the base S21?

Happens in safe mode as well.

I'd be concerned about the sensor being faulty. Something like this wouldn't be due to a poorly fitting screen protector, since that would be more likely to cause the screen to blank out immediately upon making a call (even without the phone against your ear), rather than the other way around. As far as I can tell, the more recent Samsung phones don't have an option to disable the sensor.

Right, I'm pretty sure there's no option to disable, which I wouldn't want to do anyhow. I guess I'll have to try removing the screen protector anyhow and see if that makes a difference.

Thanks for the link. Seems like some people are saying it's now a virtual AI-assisted proximity sensor, run by the software, and that there is no physical proximity sensor. Others think that's nuts and that it's still a physical sensor.

While on a call, I just tested by holding the device away from my face and gradually sliding my finger across the top of the phone covering more and more space on the top. As soon as I covered the space between the camera and the wifi symbol, the phone shuts off. I slide my finger back a little bit, it turns on. Obviously the sensor is just to the right of the camera. I must be holding the phone away from my ear or something, it seems like it's working properly when I test it the way I described. If it continues I'll just factory reset and try again and see.

Your welcome, it sounds like you have a proximity sensor, let us know your findings.
