Android Pay allows you to add your Subway card to the app and select it on the screen. However, when you try to tap the terminal with the Subway card selected (when trying use or add points) it tries to pay with your default card and the cashier terminal indicates an invalid card. I had to go searching my wallet for my Subway card in order to use my points. The terminal indicates it might be possible to use NFC to register your membership card but apparently it only works with APPLE Pay.

I might go there tomorrow but it seems pointless to use Android Pay there if I have to open my wallet for the membership card.

Yes, 2 weeks ago it worked, last week it didn't work, go figure.

Thanks. Do you recall if there was an update to the Android Pay app between when it worked and when it didn't? I haven't gotten an update to the app in a while, my Google Play Store shows the last update for the app was Nov. 2.

I would assume actually paying with a credit card would work, it was just use of the "loyalty card" that didn't.

Sorry to dig up an old topic. Went to Subway yesterday, tried using AP for the member card, didn't work, used it to pay and asked about using it for the member/loyalty card. They actually told me that there are updates for the terminals that are coming, some of the area locations have the update already and once the updates are done they'll support tap for the loyalty cards also.

Curious, was the subway card set as the default android pay card?

Why would I do that? Maybe I was using it wrong. However, if you read my most recent post (previous to this one), I found out in a discussion with an employee that an update to their terminals is coming, this update will enable tap for Subway card entry.

Yes, I read it, but I was wondering, maybe it only transmits the info of the default card, not the Subway card?

I tried to use my debit card vs credit card last night. It used my credit card even though I had the debit card on the screen. I read that it will always use the default card regardless of what card is selected on the screen. But, I have never tried using a promotional store card.

It's not a promotional card per se, just a way to earn points and get free food/meals from those points.

Follow-up on this. I haven't tried it yet but I was at a Subway and they had Android Pay as an option for registering my rewards/points card for the purchase.
