Anyone jumping ship to the S4?

What's a cd? :) I'm on Verizon......sounds like the One is coming.....so I'll definitely look at it.

HAHA seriously, what's a CD? Mine has a tape deck; CD's are too fancy and newfangled for my car. Works for me though, I just use a cassette adapter ;). The car's been in the family almost as long as I have, but I refuse to replace it until it breaks down.

Didn't even think of that. It has multiple USB ports. I'll have to check....its been a long time since I've used one of those. I've never had a bluetooth issue with any other phone. I find it really weird it' so intermittent.

I use bluetooth as well, but my stereo also has an auxiliary jack, so it would be my next option if I was having issues like you. I know you'd rather go wireless, but at least you'd have your music.

No, had it do it over the phone. Had the replacement DNA the next day.

Funny, I'm having serious GPS/battery issues with my DNA. When you said Verizon swapped you, do you mean you went in-store and were able to exchange/replace your device there? I'd love to be able to get a new/refurb in-store, rather than having to wait weeks and pay shipping for HTC to fix mine.. I don't think I could go back to my backup feature phone lol

Guess which one is the S4........It doesn't matter, it is the same tired old plastic build quality and design.

I know, I know...the software and internals are amazing but still, a little creativity in the design would have been nice.

Since I'm a gadget junky, I'd probably get one to try if anything so I can try the nifty camera features. Very curious about the battery life.

However, I still think the DNA looks superior in aesthetics.

Then again, I may just wait to see what comes out of Google I/O. Only a few months away...

I get where you're coming from, I'm thinking along the same lines too. I have no issues with my DNA, no BT issues or connectivity issues. The camera is the one thing, that disappointed me. Thanks to Snap Camera, I've been okay with the picture quality. I have a 7 month old and I'm constantly taking pictures / video, so I'm sure I'll pick up the S4, primarily for the camera and hope that the radios have improved. I had extremely spotty connection with the S3 but, it had a really good camera. Outside of that, the DNA is still a beast + looks pretty damn good.

I'm good with my DNA. I had an s3 and a note2. Both didn't have the build quality or radio signals the DNA has. Radios are very strong for me and the battery works out fine for my uses. I'm sticking with this device for some time to come. I don't see a reason to go with another device for the time being. Devices seem to be the same but different these days. Unless you're coming from iOS of course. :D

No plans on upgrading to the S4, I'm still pretty happy with my DNA great battery, signal, hardware, and developer support.

You feel the DNA has a stronger signal than the Note 2? I know Samsung has had their reception issues, but everything I've seen suggests the Note 2 has excellent reception, perhaps even besting Motorola. I had a DNA for a period of time and its reception was not as strong as the RAZR MAXX HD...

Well here's my story. I work in the silicon valley,California. During the week. I just bought a house out in central California. During the week. Reception is awesome. I'm in the larger cities. During the weekend's I go home and my reception was horrible (with the s3 and note2). With my DNA. I don't worry about reception at all. I'm good on both sides of the spectrum. City and country.

As for the maxx HD. Yeah. Lol I had one of those too. It's a well known fact that reception is never an issue with Motorola devices. I ended up selling that for the note2. I'm a tech junkie but I've been on the 10 step program with my DNA.

How is sense 5 by the way?

I flashed it a few weeks ago and haven't looked back. Not really sold yet on the blink feed but do like the new look in dialer, calendar, gallery and love the ability to customize your application drawer using folder. I've gone from using 5 home screens and very rarely using the app drawer to 2 home screens and 1 page/app drawer. I probably like it so much because it's different and a change from the old look/feel. It doesn't have all the tweeks that Viper has but still pretty cool, I'd recommend giving it a try.

Nope. My screen is better than that SAMOLED crap and from the looks of it in videos, it is way more laggy than my DNA it seems.

And sense 5 is awesome. I love blinkfeed.

I actually just cracked my DNA's screen from a very unfortunate fall out of the pocket moment. Not the worst crack in the world but enough to be annoying. So now I can either replace the DNA for $99 through asurion, ride it out with the cracks still there, or go for the S4. Love the DNA, so I'm leaning towards the replace.

If anything wouldnt you jump ship to the HTC one?

I feel like my DNA is future-proof enough not to get sucked-in by the One. Also, the whole idea of blinkfeed constantly pushing infotainment at me that I don't want is insulting.

I love my DNA, but if I did switch it would be to the One. I've always had HTC devices because I prefer Sense over the alternatives and their build quality is superior. I really like the aluminum body, but would hate to give up wireless charging.

Just remember the S4 uses a pentile screen. Yeah it's 1080p but who cares if it's grainy and whites look the worst.

If you want a good Samsung device pick up the Note 2. It has a true RGB display. I'm really confused as to why Samsung would do that. The Note 2 has such a great display and then they put a pentile display on there new flagship device.

I'm pretty much a big fan of Samsung but if I had to choose between the S4 , HTC One or Note 2. I would go with the Note 2 then HTC One. I couldn't handle the grainy pentile display on the S4.

These are the kind of things that really make me wonder sometimes. If anything they could have released the S4 with a Super AMOLED HD Plus screen in 720p. Just the fact that the Note 2's display looks better then the 1080p display on the S4 is crazy.

When you look at you're phone, you're looking at the display. So that should be the first thing they make sure is perfect. Then they can worry about everything else. I'm just very disappointed in Samsung I guess.

Except it's not the same old pentile it uses a diamond pattern which is supposed to help with the "graininess" as you say

Ehhh im jumping over to Verizon tmrw... and then picking up a new DNA on Monday... Can't wait :)
Was gonna get the One on AT&T but the delays are makin me too impatient so I'm going to the next best thing IMO.

I work on Toyota's and I'm hybrid certified with 14 years. I've been hooking my DNA up to the prius for many customers that have had issues. And it works every time I try to connect. Try going to your local dealer and asking an advicer to grab the best Bluetooth inclined tech.
It doesn't connect to my prius either. Sucks, but not a big enough deal to make me jump ship. As for the signal loss, have you tried getting a replacement? I have never lost signal, above or below ground, and I frequently took the metro when my husband was at Walter reed.

Meh, my Multi Function Display is broken, so chances are they won't be able to connect since I'm sure I'd have to use prompts on the display. Until I have the 6k to replace that, I guess I can just ride it out. It used to just pick up my old phones as soon as I hit the dial out button on the steering wheel as long as Bluetooth was enabled. But since then the MFD has broken so even if I did prompt from there, I can't now :-( I'd hate to drive all around san antonio trying to find a dealer (we just moved here) just to be told I can't connect unless I replace the MFD.
