Does anyone use this app? Can't get Foxfi to work after jellybean so looking for another option. Have Pdanet and it works well but looking for a way to wifi tether as well. (Not rooted, but may be headed that way someday)

Thoughts?

Oh, so FoxFi isn't working for you at all after the update? I've had other people say it works fine, but I haven't updated yet and am still on Ice Cream Sandwich.

It has not been working as reliably but I may need to mess with it more. If it is working I will just stick with it.

I gotcha. Keep us posted. I haven't updated because I was worried about the issues that may arise. Hope it starts working flawlessly for you.

I use it to tether my nexus 7 when not home. Works great

I have this app and just tethered my laptop, it took about 45 seconds to connect. Ran a speed test and was running 13 megabits both ways.

Yeah I will. I wasn't going to update the app but it told me that my version wasn't supported any longer and the old version wouldn't work on my phone any more. So I will see if I can get it to work.

Does it work similarly to other wifi tether apps? I turned it on and it worked but it seemed a little good to be true so just wanted to make sure it wouldn't show up on my bill at the end of the month if I switched from Foxfi

That I can't answer. Sorry.

So I don't know what I did, but it does seem to work again (Foxfi that is). So from what I can tell it does work with jellybean. That is good news to a lot of us :-D

I use Potable Wifi on my Verizon Note 2. It's not rooted (yet...). I haven't used Potable on my Verizon S3 (don't need it because I am running Cyanogenmod 10 that has it's own wifi hotspot).

Portable seemed a little glitchy initially on the Note but works flawlessly now. And I can get around the $30 Verizon charges.

You go through the Verizon setup right up to the point of agreeing to the monthy charge part. Then you set up Portable from that point forward.

I just don't know if it works on the S3.
