The actual EA Tetris just has a subscription option but not a one-time purchase of anything.
Obviously it would only "last" as long as you actually had a compatible phone, then you'd have to get their later version to keep playing, thus the developer could still sell it "again" so to speak.
Almost everything under the Google Play store that's listed as "paid" was released so long ago, I doubt it would work on a current phone unless it were to mention the same version I had as still being supported.
