I called sprint to fix my streaming for Sirius app tonight ,guy on phone out of the blue said" you are getting an update very soon". For what it's worth.
Evo-lution
What recovery are you using? Also, where do you notice you have 8 files, is it in recovery or through a file explorer app that you notice this?

Okay enough with the root. More talk about the legit update..
You can discuss it all you want. Sprint still has the final decision on whether they are going to release the update or not... so making a thread is also a waste because if we knew then it will be on the front page.I agree, Highjackers! Go talk about your root techniques in the appropriate place. We need to keep some good discussion going on the thread subject.
Sorry nothing to add, just hoping to run off these guys talking about root in the wrong place.
Andrew that's your nandroid back up those are files you need to flash when things go wrong lol but you have a recovery and you need to download a rom of your choice and put that on the root of your sdcard and get into recovery mode again and wipe everything factory restore, your dalvki and the select flash file of choice and and select the yes flash file and you will see that it has successfully loaded everything now reboot the phone and IT WILL TAKE A LONG TIME TO LOAD DONT TAKE THE BATTERY OUT let it do its thing and now you have a custom rom on your phone hope that helps you alittle but on the subject of this update its going be a while if you want a taste of what to come just root your phone and flash some roms Cuz it ain't coming tomorrow Lol

like the other poster said there is no need to keep maken or talking about something that we have no control over but if someone had maybe said hy you should go bla and such and such place to find out where a noobie shoud go hey that would have been better but soo what i bet at least every one has asked atleast once when they started out how they do such an such in the wrong place but hey hijack over lol but i want to get honeycomb more than gingerbread its like a little main. update and a few feat. we dont have but honeycomb looks way more promising the what we are wishing for imo :-/
Yes, it does.Does unrevoked work on the current ota froyo 2.2?
Yeah, I have a feeling that the Evo won't get a Honeycomb update. My guess is that it would max out at 2.4.Considering "Honeycomb" was made and designed for tablets. I see the phones getting a different Android version.
