Anyone know where the nfc chip is on the note 3?

I was just wondering and a Google search turned up nothing I could use.

Chip? not sure but at a guess it shares duties with the bluetooth. Antenna is on the battery.

Its either in the battery like the s3 or on the battery door like the note 2

I will have to take the battery out to check. on the note 2 the NFC antenna was in the battery (aftermarket batteries often did not have the antenna). As to where the chip itself is, got a screwdriver????

I used cheap batteries in my note 2 and my nfc worked fine with them

I could see it on the back cover.. When it came out people were saying to be careful on replacing the back cover because that's where the nfc antenna was. It was very visible

On the note 2, the nfc antenna was in the back cover. In the note 3, it is in the battery

My ATT Note 2 has in in the back cover, which was the worst design ever! most of the extended batteries I wanted did not have NFC because they didn't want to build it to connect to the cover. I thought that on one of the Note2 variants that they did put it in the battery though, but I cant find where I read it now of course.
