As the title States is anyone tempted to jump ship from the LG G6 to either the V30, or even Note 8? Guess we can be all inclusive and include anyone leaving the G6 for anything else that's been released? (one plus 5, HTC U11, etc)

For me, the V30 is very exciting with a bigger, OLED screen and SD835. I feel the V30 specs are what the G6 should have had to begin with. Only if LG included 6gb ram to compete with the Note 8

I'm very tempted to try out the note 8. I've previously had the Note 4 , and it was excellent but never really used the stylus much. But love the huge screen, less curved screen and 6 GB RAM and minimum 64 gb storage.

For me, I'm getting the G6 for $360 over two years AT&T next plan, if it wasn't for that I'd prob jumped ship today...

Thoughts?

So personally I think at this point the G & V lines need to merge. Not enough difference to justify two devices IMO. If I had the G6, I'd want the V30.

Very good point. For someone let's say with a G5 or V20 looking to upgrade and want to stick with a LG, I would think most would choose the V30 over the G6. Unless you get the G6 dirt cheap on sale...

I just got my G6 last week and love the form factor compared to the V20. If priced right, I might Jump on the V30 in a few months.

Id jump to V or G series of LG but after my 2 years contract expires.. So G8 or V50 i'm "cumingx soon". 😝

Idk, the G6 is enough for my daily use of apps.. I honestly don't have or see the need to upgrade my phone. Battery okay, software and apps perform fluidly for 99% of the time so... Too satisfied with G6 to move so quickly on to new device..

At this point I'm pretty happy with my G6. I got this from Sprint for free, due to the multiple issues I had with the G4 and G5. With triplets now in college, my ability to get the latest tech has taken a major hit. The V30 looks nice, but I'm overall very pleased with the G6. So much so, we got one for my son when Best Buy had them for $120 earlier this month.

How did you get it for $120 from Best buy? That's an amazing deal (your free G6 is even better still)

I'll wait and see if any discounts from carriers when the V30 and Note 8 are released. I'll hold onto my G6 for now, but honestly doubt I'll keep it for it's entire 2 yr contract

Best Buy had a one day sale. I'm paying $5/month on my account with Sprint, so they're committing us to another 2 years. I think I saw this sale listed on Android Central or Android Police. Just happened to luck into seeing it. My son had a Nexus 6, which was on its last legs.

Yes definitely. I got my G6 free because my V10 bootlooped and now my G6 vibration has stopped less than 3 months since getting it. That's unacceptable. I'm starting to think LG is a cheap *** smartphone company. Hell maybe even for all their electronics. My old LG smart TV refused to update apps so I had to send it back.
Wow that's some bad luck. Definitely, if I experience any issues with my G6 no question I'm definitely getting something else. So far my G6 has performed well with the occasional lag under heavy load

Right now the Note 8 seems more attractive than the V30 but damn the $950 price on AT&T

ill look at the v30, but given that its bigger than the g6 im most likely going to stick with the g6.

If LG offers BOGO free deal on V30 like they did with G6 I may consider it, but right now nothing to really sway me to drop my G6.

The G6 is great. The only real reason I'd jump from it is the T-Mobile 600 (if that applies)

the v30 will be one of the first tmo phones that is compatible with the 600 mghz band. however, you will want to make sure they are actually deploying it in your area if that is the only reason you are going to upgrade.

Man I'm really tempted to leave the G6 for the Note 8. Even with the Google camera HDR+, the lens blur (portrait mode) usually messed up the blur effect

That's not the only reason I may leave, definitely would love a bigger display, more internal storage, etc

If I had the G6, I wouldn't. The V series look great but I love how the G6 feels in the hand. It's a "big, but small" feature that's awesome for someone like me who has small hands. But I can totally understand the allure of the V30 and even the Note 8; as many diehard Samsung fans will be jumping for it.

So I'll probably get bashed for this lol but as much as I love the G6, which is a lot, when I can upgrade in May I'm gonna try out the blackberry keyone. I miss the physical keyboard so much that I want to give it a shot. If it doesn't fit me I'll return it and probably go with the v30 although I really hate that they curved the front screen. Big part of why I love the g6 is the flat screen

No makes sense. I've thought about the blackberry too, I used to have theirs and loved it. But now the virtual keyboards are so good, especially with swipe and whatnot, a physical keyboard, for me at least, isn't really needed.

Btw, where can you try out a phone, and return it? I know like Amazon won't take returns anymore, only exchanges if it's damaged

I used the Keyone all day yesterday.

My boss got it to accompany his V20.. He's had it for a few weeks and I've been asking him weekly how he likes it.. I just found out he posted it on OfferUp to see if anyone would want to buy it. Haha
