Anyone looking to upgrade to the S6?

I did so from the S3 to the 4 and couldn't be happier. You'd be much happier than that jump if you decide to go with the 6. I do miss the S-Pen from the 3, however, as it was nice to have that clip holder. If there are good pre-order incentives and I can either trade in or sell the S4 for a decent price, I'm getting the S6.

Oh, and DeX ON the tablet itself will change your world (I just recommend having an external keyboard with it, which the one from Samsung this time around looks pretty cool...but there are also cheaper alternatives WITH a trackpad too out there; I use a 15-dollar one off Amazon that folds into a small rectangle no bigger than a powerpack).

Nope. Still totally happy with the S3. Battery starting to get tired but still holds out through the day.

The S3 is just terrible. Don't get a system ui error. It took me over an hour to get it to shutdown. It is super slow, and it has not been updated sine the April security patch.

Not sure why you're having issues with the software, but April security on a 2-year old SAMSUNG device...that's actually pretty good.

. Can't hardly wait to preorder! As much as my Tab S3 is trucking along, I could use a bigger screen and updated s-pen features and still have the fingerprint sensor security!

No interest in the 6...but if I was having issues with the 3, which I'm not, I would go for the 4. Looking forward to getting PIE with dark theme on my 3.

No I am not upgrading. This is my last Samsung tablet. I spend enough money on the Note series. They don't seem to care about giving us updates in a timely manner.

I was experiencing this occasionally. It was SUPER annoying. Honestly, even a Galaxy A6+ with the low tier but still decent SD450 is faaaaaar more responsive than the Tab S3 on Pie. Had to root Pie on my S3 to do some performance tweaking, but even that is limited because it won't let me manually control the rediculous CPU speed... I can change the governor, read ahead cache and entropy to make things noticeably faster.

Edit: The S3 has good hardware, but the software is underoptimized especially considering that this thing is running an SoC from Q4 2015. I will continue to use it as I am a college student and simply cannot afford to upgrade any time soon.

No, for a few reasons:

1- The lack of headphone jack is a bad joke, and unacceptable
2- I don't like widescreen aspect ratios. I had the original Tab S before and switching to 4:3 from that was a blessing
3- These things are just getting way too expensive
4- Finally, my Tab S3 still works fine for what I want out of a tablet.

Frankly, I don't know where I'll go once it's time to upgrade my Tab S3. Samsung is following Apple's worse traits (like showing us the finger by removing the jack and the ultra-high prices) but it's not copying the things Apple gets right, like long-term support. Probably Amoled is the thing I'd miss the most. Hard to go back to an LCD display after all this time.
