I'm rooted on thunderbolt and use it for tethering 4g internet. Anyone make the jump to razr maxx yet and how do you like it in comparison to the tbolt? pros? cons? thanks

I did and I love this phone. I do miss the HTC interface but the Maxx is not too bad. I had the TB with the extended battery and I get about the same juice with the Maxx and it is so much lighter. I thought the Maxx battery would even be better than the TB extended (more juice) but it's about the same.

Same here!! I would give away my Thunderbolt if they would allow me to cancel my contract, and buy the Razr Maxx for the $299!!!

Some who bought the thunderbolt already qualify to buy the Maxx at a subsidized price.

Frank always has his hard on for his thunderbolt. Bahaha. I love this phone, but hate the fact that I had to have 4 fully charged standard batteries used over a 20 hour road trip this past week, while people with iPhones lasted the entire trip. It was an embarrassing realization, and I need a phone with more battery. So while it's all nice for you to hardly use your phone, I want to be able to use my phone all day without worrying. My friend's RAZR (not the Maxx) lasted 16 hours, playing games, netflixing, texting, and browsing, while mine died in 3 hours if I did that stuff. So I would love to have the larger battery, because when I had the extended battery I easily got 30 hours.

So I'm "itching" to get a phone that lasts all day, and that its own manufacturer says blows. Google it. HTC said that all of their recent phones were garbage. The Droid RAZR, along with the lapdock and other awesome accessories that the Tbolt doesn't have, seems awesome. I love my Thunderbolt (it was a gift from my girlfriend and will never get rid of it) but it's time to have a new option.

I wish my Thunderbolt had an HDMI outlet, plus a lapdock accessory. Otherwise, I don't care for the non removable battery of the Razor. If the Razor had a removable battery, I might actually be at the Verizon store to pick up a new Razor. For now, I will probably wait.

Do you swap batteries or charge more than twice a day?

I saw that and laughed seeing as how I can't believe HTC said that. I have the RAZR and wish I could trade it in for the Maxx but I'm out of luck.

Ordered a razr maxx yesterday and it should be here Thurs. Can't wait. Even with the extended battery on my bolt, the phone doesn't last me much past dinnertime. I was able to use an upgrade on another phone in my house.

LOL....everytime a new phone comes out, this happens. I'm rooting my Tbolt in the next week or so, and am going to keep giggling under my breath as people 'scramble' for every new phone that pops up every 3-4 weeks.I'm stuck with my Tbolt until July 2013, so what's a guy to do? I guess that I'm really lucky that I have charger access 70% of the time in my daily routine. I've already decided on an extra battery while going to ballgames or some extended time away from a charger, but is it REALLY necessary to have a phone that can last 3 days without being charged? I'm just sayin....

My thunderbolt has lasted a week between charges... With the extended battery and radios turned off ;)

At least the battery will last.

Until it needs a charge or replaced (from failure). Personally, I'd rather have the option to carry extra batteries and swap out as needed than having to seek out and be tethered to a charger. Not to mention when the battery goes bad (it will at some point), you can't easily replace it yourself. :)
