Anyone not having the "Sleep of Death" issue?

I am glad to hear that everything is working well now. I will have to do the firmware upgrade just in case.

Getting the sleep issue here. I've ha dmy tab about a week and it just started two days ago. Its annoying as hell and I'm afraid that it will just die on me. I lost my best buy receipt so if it dies, I can't even bring it back...<sigh>

You can exchange it or get store credit.

Just do a factory reset. This is not an issue with your device, but rather a software issue. Just make sure to backup all of your stuff before you reset the Tab.

I got the tab 7.0 plus a a pre-order from Amazon and had it for almost a month now. Recently, it likes to reboot by itself without touching it at all or it would reboot if I press the power button too many times. Is that the "Sleep of Death" that many of you been referring to?
What kind of firmware upgrade are you guys talking about? From Samsung Kies? or to ICS?

If I reset to factory settings, will I lose all of may apps? I remember when I first got the tab, and login with my goggle account, some of the apps from my phone was transfer over. I wonder if I need to backup everything using Appbrain first before I 'hit' factory reset.

Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated!!

The sleep of death issue is when the device is not in use (in sleep mode) and you go to turn it on and find that it has shut off, due to an unwitnessed crash. This sounds like what you have experienced. I am not sure about the power button issue though. Resetting to factory did seem to help with the sleep of death issue, although I have had a crash since then, it seems to be rare now. If you reset the device to factory, you will lose everything on the internal storage. Your microSD card will be fine. So definitely backup everything before doing this.

I'm not sure about everyone else but each time I have a random reboot or "sleep of death", as soon as I get the thing back on and unlock it, I have a nice Social Media crash window waiting for me. I wonder if this is what's causing it??

For the user that rooted, did you remove the Social Media from the Tab? I already did a factory wipe on it after I did the firmware update and I am still getting the reboots and Sleep of death.

I have had my GT 7 plus for a month and am getting the SOD about once a day. Have also had one random reboot. Do all units have this problem? If I return will the replacement have the same issues?

I have not had the shut down problem. I use Dolphin Browser so the dim is not an issue. I am not really having any issues that I can tell. I opened mine Christmas morning and have been playing with it a lot since then.

I started out with the tab working fine (no SOD) for about 1 month. Then I went through a period of fairly often SODs. I did a factory data reset and they went away for about a week. Then they started happening again. I rooted - no help.

Then last week it started happening a lot. I went to XDA developers forum and the general consensus there is that if WiFi is on when the screen goes off whether from timeout or user pressing the power button then SODs are likely to occur. But here was the kicker - setting WIFi off when sleepng in the Settings app DID NOT TURN OFF WIFI!!!

But using an app on Market did. The app is called Auto Airplane Mode. Once set up to turn off wifi when screen goes blank I have not had an SOD. But there is more than one Auto Airplane Mode app on Market. The one you want was written by DON.

I think this is really the fix we need!

I was having SOD couple times a day. Downloaded the Auto Airplane Mode as suggested in earlier post and haven't had issue since.

After owning my tmobile version since launch day, I can say that the SOD has become a nonissue for me. I hardly notice it anymore, so it might be happening less frequently, or maybe not at all. I can't even remember the last time it occurred.
