I returned one BOLt for a new one and this one doesnt pick up audio either when recording !!! Is this a problem on every single Bolt or does it just depend on if you get lucky and get a working one ?

Thanks

Mine works pretty good, the sound is pretty low.

I too am having the same issue. I transfered videos to my computer for editing and discovered the problem.

seems we are not alone.

here are some things I found on the web:

Thunderbolt Audio Problem with recording video

HTC Working On Fix For Thunderbolt Video Recording Audio Issues

seems like HTC is aware and will send out an update.

depending on Verizon it could be a while till we get this.

the second link suggests using another video app. has anyone use any other apps and have suggestions?

I think it's a universal software issue with all the TBs. It picks up audio but it's very silent due to improper noise cancellation is my guess.

I've only recorded 4 or 5 videos on 2 different occasions and the sound came out fine on all, both on the phone and when sending them to the computer. I narrated the one video and it sounded just like narrating a video with my camera...

I haven't had any problems with my audio in my videos. I have shot any using the ffc though.

Mine is awful. I blared my speakers while doing a sample recording on TV and it sounded like someone was whispering from across the room if I put the phone to my ear on max volume.

For those of you with no problems, are you shooting the video indoors or outdoors? I find that the problem mostly occurs in indoor environments with minimal ambient noise (no wind, passing cars, etc.)

Mine worked perfect until yesterday. I wonder if it its related to ringer/media volume? I'll try some testing.

I took a video of a dance party we had at my school, and it didn't pick up the music, but it picked up all the talking... go noise cancelling mics?

Mine records with audio (tried it inside a couple of times), but it's very low. You can hear me talking just fine, but you can barely hear the person I'm video-ing - even when he's talking in a normal tone of voice. Haven't been able to figure out a way to correct it either.
