I think if enough folks stick to using 3 button nav they'll keep it around as an option ;-)
I hope so. I like having a choice.

Regarding notifications, all they would need to do is add a small floating button that appears at the bottom of the screen when the notification comes thru at the top. You tap on that button to drop the notification shade down; or you swipe it away to dismiss it.
Good news! Download this APK from Google (just came out) for the Pixel Launcher (created in anticipation of the Pixel 4). Apparently the ONLY update it made was swipe-down-anywhere for notifications. I just did it and checked it out. Works like a wonder!I'm still using gestures. It just flows better for me. Single swipe up for app drawer and being able to swipe back regardless of which hand I'm using are what's keeping me on it. Still wish a simpler way to swipe down notifications existed like it does for the app drawer swipe up... That's the main issue I have with it.
Awesome! Well either they're actually listening or they meant to do it the first time. LolGood news! Wait! Things have been a bit glitchy since downloading (freezing or getting stuck in Recents), though interestingly the new swipe-down feature works great. Lol I don't have time to uninstall it right now but hopefully that will make a difference.Awesome! Well either they're actually listening or they meant to do it the first time. Lol
I gave up since every time I was in the messages, I would try to swipe to back out and 90% of the time would end up archiving text threads. I went back to the 2-button navigation.
