Anyone planning on using Gestures?

Regarding notifications, all they would need to do is add a small floating button that appears at the bottom of the screen when the notification comes thru at the top. You tap on that button to drop the notification shade down; or you swipe it away to dismiss it.

What a great idea ... I sure hope Google is reading!

I don't use the Pixel launcher, however, as I find the big, colored icons clownish looking. I really like the Microsoft launcher and the Lines icon pack (makes a minimalist look). I really hope that eventually the gestures can be incorporated into the 3rd party launchers.

I'm still using gestures. It just flows better for me. Single swipe up for app drawer and being able to swipe back regardless of which hand I'm using are what's keeping me on it. Still wish a simpler way to swipe down notifications existed like it does for the app drawer swipe up... That's the main issue I have with it.
Good news! Download this APK from Google (just came out) for the Pixel Launcher (created in anticipation of the Pixel 4). Apparently the ONLY update it made was swipe-down-anywhere for notifications. I just did it and checked it out. Works like a wonder!

Awesome! Well either they're actually listening or they meant to do it the first time. Lol
Wait! Things have been a bit glitchy since downloading (freezing or getting stuck in Recents), though interestingly the new swipe-down feature works great. Lol I don't have time to uninstall it right now but hopefully that will make a difference.

I held off on trying out the features until just now. A bit of a rocky start but I'll get used to it eventually!

I gave up since every time I was in the messages, I would try to swipe to back out and 90% of the time would end up archiving text threads. I went back to the 2-button navigation.

I can certainly understand your frustrations with the gestures. It's barely been 24 hours and I'm still getting used to things. My biggest struggle is trying to swipe down on apps (that I'm currently using) and accidentally opening up apps at the bottom of my homescreen.

I do like two-button navigation so perhaps I'll return in a little while. Just want to give the gestures more of a go beforehand.

So now I'm back to two-button navigation! Haha. It happened when I was trying to install Tapatalk on my phone. Needed to get to things more quickly!
