Anyone regretting the X now with the new crop of phones arriving?

I love the fact android is open, and that quality manufactures are using the OS. The more the better......but technology is subject to the same laws of supply and demand all markets are. Ebb and flow it will, I like the flow....the more the Better!

Well it's been a few months since we got our X's, since then a slew of new android phones have been released and announced. Has the honeymoon ended and you wish you had waited or there's nothing that can come between you and your X.
Verizon is now getting the Global phones the Droid Pro the Samsung Continuum and the Incredible HD plus the original Incredible has returned and the rumored HTC Merge

T-mobile now has the G2 and the MyTouch HD

AT&T has the rumored Dell Thunder

and lets not forget the highly rumored Samsung Nexus 2 (S2)

Why would we?
Sweet phones on crippled networks= expensive tiny tablets.

Now if Verizon actually gets an upgraded evo (Incredible HD), then I will make the leap. Only because I didn't have to extend my contract for my D2 or Dx.

Tech becomes absolete every 6 months so you gotta get what available when you're ready to purchase. Something better will ALWAYS be on the horizon. The Droid X stock alone is a beast of a device. If you're rooted, then you truly begin to see its potential. If you're blurrless....wow!! If you OC it........its like s laptop in your hand. The X is THE phone for me.

i regret mine for other reasons, but i have an upgrade every 2-3 months, so new phones are never a problem for me :)

i've had the Droid, Droid Incredible, Droid X, and the Incredible HD is next on my radar...i also have an upgrade hitting Feb 23, so 4G here i come

Nope. Phones that are not on Verizon don't count to me. I have not seen any new phones released on Verizon that have made me regret my X.

I got it, liked it then returned it. Not because of anything it did or didn't do, but simply to give me a bit more time to see what comes out this month. the screen size is nice easy to use. Its still available so if I don't like what I see this month I can get it.

All I will need to do is root, remove the crapware and install Launcher Pro+. Custom ROM's sure, but again until I know I am just not making the call. On vacation next week so I am droidless (crappy flip) so hopefully when I return I can decide to wait or rock the DX.

Obsolete, you mean right? Well, it depends on what your definition of obsolete is. I generally view that as hardware and OS capabilities....to me, the X packs as much punch as the new hd inc. Eye of the beholder I guess. I agree with you and according to android central's most recent pod cast, agree too...the X is still one of the top 5 android devices out, across all networks:)

The only phone on the horizon that would make me consider switching from my X would be the rumored Nexus 2. Vanilla Android and being first up for updates would be great, but the phone would have to be compatible with Verizon (obviously), and would need an X-sized screen. If those conditions aren't met, then i won't bother switching until a 4G X comes out, or whatever the X successor is called.

DX is still the best out there I think.
If there was a Nexus One (or Two) with similar specs I'd prefer that just for cuz it's more open.
But i'll take a DX with no eFuse chip :D

No, not yet.... I have a line up for an upgrade this weekend that Im saving for the next game changer. I have not seen it yet.........

I never regret phone purchases. If I do, I switch in my 30. The X is a quality piece. I do one year contracts. I would recommend to those with regrets to do more research before a purchase....android is not apple....we get a ton of new devices in a year.

1 year contracts are the way to go. I have my main line that I can upgrade at 1 year without my me2 discount, and a second line on a 1 year contract I can upgrade every 10 months.

I can now get a phone about every 6 months, and sell the old one on craigs list!

That is awesome. I know some people must do two year contracts for necessity, but if you can swing the extra bucks, it is more fun upgrading annually, or sooner. I will admit, if I was on a two year, the X would be a good choice.

You can upgrade every year on 2 year contracts too.....you just wont get your ne2. What I've always done

Yes you can, and there is nothing wrong with that. I think being free once a year is more fun though:)

This might be silly, but I really like the 4.3 in screen on this thing. Also, it does everything that I can think of. Unlike my Blackberry where I was constantly thinking that it could do things better, the X hasn't really struck me that way.
For once in my life, I am content with the phone I have.

I've been holding out for the Incredible HD, but after dropping 50% of my calls the past 2 weeks on AT&T, I finally had to dump my iPhone 4 (yea, just renewed this summer) and pick up an X.

Luckily I have 30 days to decide, if something drops Nov 23rd, I'm switching.
