Anyone seen this Charging Problem?

I haven't read anything about what happened to me this morning. After leaving the phone charging overnight, I woke to find the status light blinking, alternating between orange/green each blink. I woke the phone up and saw the battery status indicator with an Exclamation point in the middle of it. I couldn't find this indicator picture in the manual. Additionally, under Settings, Power, Battery it read "discharging" rather than "Charging". It was down to 65 percent. And it was warm. I unplugged it a few times and replugged it in only to see the same thing. I changed chargers (I already have two) and got the same results. I took the battery out, checked the contacts, replaced the battery, and it hasn't done it again in the last few hours. I'm back up to 100 percent charge. Apparently normal again.

Anyone seen this? Hopefully just a contact fluke.

I just got my Thunderbolt at 1pm. It's now 2:30, and the LED notification has been a steady Orange the whole time. In the manual, it said that it would be green for charged and red for charging.

I can't find what orange indicates. Anyone know? I haven't even turned it on yet because the manual keeps saying to fully charge it before turning it on so thats what Im doing.

In HTC manual speak, Red means Orange. And yes, it will turn green when fully charged. Probably within 2 hours. Mine was down to about 20 percent when I first walked out of the store.

Take it back. Mine did the exact same thing. I took it back to the store late last night, and the gal there sent it back on warranty and gave me a new one. The new one works flawlessly -- you plug in, it charges.

I actually posted the same question to the boards yesterday but didn't really see a response so I said forget it and took it back to the store. She confirmed it's "intermittent" charging ability in the store and swapped it out right then.

When it flashes between orange (or Red) and green, that means the battery is overheating and too hot to charge. I agree with lazymac, take it back.

Well, after removing the battery and the SIM, then reinserting both and powering on, I haven't seen these symptoms again.

Please refrain from removing the SIM. I highly doubt that has anything to do with your battery issues.

Do you have power saving turned on? I'm wondering what the notification of power saving mode is. I think mine was on, by default. At a certain battery level it kicks in and if you have notification of it turned on it's supposed to give you some sort of well notification.

I've had times where I've plugged phones in to charge and they didn't for some weird reason. I chalked it up to a missed connection in the port.
