Anyone still thinking pixel 3 is overpriced?

OK. I'm within the Pixel 3 return window - can you recommend a phone which is correctly priced and similar to the Pixel 3? I am genuinely open to suggestions. I prefer a smaller device.

I purchased a Pixel 3 from Google and it definitely is being built to compete with iPhones. However, after owning a LG V35 Thinq, I went back to it and returned the Pixel.
Why?
No SD card storage available
Notch
4 gb RAM - I like a different Launcher and need more RAM for Apps.
Larger screen size
$200 cheaper

I think a majority of phones are for what they lack to be honest and the pixel 3 is no different especially with its issues

All of thiese things you knew before you bought the Pixel though, right?

i have been a life long iphone user. pixel 3 was the first android phone to tempt me, but i got a XR in the end. In my country, most people buy phones from the teleco because they offer huge subsidies. it costs usd $272 to buy a XR, but usd $606 to buy pixel 3 with a free pixel stand. so for me, pixel 3 is overpriced compared to the likes of huawei, oneplus and even XR.

Some of these are the reason I'm going with either the 6T or the V40. Price being the other one but there is going to have to be a big price drop on that for black Friday for me to get it.

Go to the stores and car lots.

Tell me what you can find that is not over priced.
How long do you want to stay in the back of the pack.
For me I like technology and New.
Got to keep up with things or get left behind a few years.

What do you use more than your phone !

I'm lucky my OL don't rag me about getting back a new phone when I want one.
Cause there would be a fight
And she would loose

She normally gets my old phones.
And is happy with that , cause we don't both spend money

Wait till 5G comes out.
You will see expensive.
Hear airtime will go up.
Not to mention phone's.

And it will probably just work in big cities.
And be spotty for a while.

Flossy is great! In most of his reviews, he says the phone is priced "too damn high!" I bought into Verizon's buy one get one deal... One of the rare times I got a decent price break on a smartphone. Is my Pixel 3 worth the full $800 price? I don't think so. I agree with Flossy here.

Sit down, look into Verizon buy one , get one for free.
Plus the upgrade fees.
Do the math.
And if you break the contact, you loose the free part.
Verizon might as well call it a contact phone so you are locked into them with monthly payments.
I'd rather pay the money all at once .

Hope you are happy.

Yeah but since Flossy says that all of the help time it waters down the statement and is probably more for affect than it is his version of reality.

I guess it comes down to how many sales they make on the phone. If it sells more than the pixel 2/2XL them Google have made enough of the right decisions to justify the price, of the sales are less, then they haven't made enough right decisions.

Google hold the sales figures very close to their chest (no doubt because they're not very good) so we won't know for sure how well these do with respect to their previous phones.

But value for money, no I don't think the Pixel 3/3XL is worth it over competitors. The advantages the Pixel 3 has I don't think overcome the disadvantages it has for what it's priced at.

I'm actually thinking of skipping the Pixel 4 entirely unless they really knock it out of the ballpark.

If they really knock it out of the ball park, they'll undoubtedly also knock the price out of the ball park. Are you prepared to pay an out of the ball park price for it? The majority are already agreeing the 3 is overpriced. We can't have completely over the top phones without matching prices.

I like the 3 just the way it is..... and with the black Friday sales prices you can get a 64 gig 3 for $649 and a 64 gig 3xl for $699.... which is a great price for a great phone ;-)

I do agree though that at it's regular price the 3 line is probably not going to sell as well as the 2 series.

While I agree with you about cars, cars to me are different because you hold your life in your hands when you drive; as well as the people in your car. So paying a bit more for a car with secure technology, etc makes more sense to me than paying $1000+ for a phone. Or $1300 for the iPhone X line.
