Anyone take Verizon up on increased data?

question, this discount you get, is it directly through your work or did you let verizon know that you are a civil servant ? reason i'm asking is my wife is a civil servant as well and we never new that such a discount is available. Is this something I can contact big red with ?

I don't exactly know. It's a discount I've had for years and years (since the wonderful blackberry storm). I don't know if they do the discount anymore but I do know that Verizon here discounts your rate plan.

I looked into this, Verizon wireless.com/discounts. My wife sent in her work email address, it was validated and approved from Verizon, discount will take 1to 2 billing cycles. I have no clue what the discount will be.

I got an offer to double my data from 3 GB to 6 GB at the same price. I called and sure enough I now have 6 GB for the same price. Double for nothing extra.

So I assume this is for data only correct? Then you pay separate for voice?

I get a discount on data plan and voice. I have like 450 minute package. I pay like $76 a month at this time.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm paying $107.90 for 30g after discount, paying $100 for 15g would be pretty stupid!

But wouldn't the discount be applied to the 15g plan as well making it less than $100? I have 15g for $80 after discount.

Same here. I was doubled up to 6gb for free. I also called to complain about something and they have me another 2gb for 12 months so I am at 8gb now. Last month I only used 3gb though!

I believe the discount for civil servants is 15% on the voice part of the plan. The data portion isn't affected. At least that what I see when I look at my bill.

I bought the Droid Turbo on the EDGE plan for $27/month, and got a %25 line discount. So the Turbo is costing me $2/month. Not too bad.

Any thoughts as to how Verizon will approve my civil servant discount ? So far I'm hearing different percentages being allocated to plans, voice, data. I have 2 lines on edge with shared 10G plan for 160.00. Any clues what I should expect ?
