Anyone thinking about reverting to stock (but rooted) for 4.1?

Re: Anyone thinking about reverting to stock (but rooted) for 4.1

Sorry wish I could help but I have this thing where I'm allergic to people who use ROM Manager....

jk (not really) but if I'm not mistaken v2 has root built in. Read the OP for the ROM :)

EDIT: And don't you dare even think about restoring system / google app data with Tibu..... user apps fine. System data, NO

Awesome! Yes, dmmarck has mentioned that in a number of threads, just apps, not system data.

For my backup, I use nothing but market restore.

Clean slate :)

Re: Anyone thinking about reverting to stock (but rooted) for 4.1

What do you use for backup?

I use Tibu just fine... I backup my user apps and data, and restore about half of them with data (the ones that need it, like game progress and stuff) and the other half just without data. NEVER restore system data or google app data... you are asking for nothing but trouble.

Yes you have to spend 20 minutes signing into all your accounts, setting up your phone, etc... just do it. I do it all the time, hundreds of times, we all do. Old data is bad.

I will follow that advice.

And when did did Rom Manager become persona non grata? Back with my OG Droid, it was pretty standard and no one had anything negative to say about it, other than some just like doing things manually. Did it do a lot of damage at some point? (I have not bothered rooting and adding ROM's on my TB and Rezound, and have only rooted my Nexus).

Nah.. it screws up sometimes... but overall I just prefer to use recovery and that everyone learn to use it, as doing things in recovery is always more reliable.

Well, the flash went fine and I am up and running JB.

Is there any reason Titanium wouldn't show up in the app tray? I installed it, and it is showing up in my list of apps in settings, but it is not in the tray at all.

Edit: nevermind, stupidly forgot that the pro was just the key, and I still needed the app!! :0)
