Has anyone used it? Is it good? Should I get it? It looks really good, but I am not sure if it has support and what not. Does it even work for the thunderbolt?

oh forgetful, just the person I need :)

Well I'm gonna try it, it looks great, umm really quickly, how do I install a new radio? Through hboot? what do I do there?

And then, I see I have to apply the 1.7 update, when I do that, what caches do I clear?

That'll be all then I'll flash

I've been using Tesla Coil since I first rooted about a month ago. :) Love the way it looks and have found very few issues with functionality overall (minor things like FB sync getting stuck). Battery life has been pretty awesome, too, though I admit that I flash new versions of Imoseyon's leanKernel like an addict.

I haven't messed with the radio on mine so I can't help you there, but if you're applying the 1.7.1 update over 1.7 you should just clear the cache partition and Dalvik cache before flashing.

ah okay, one more thing to install a radio, I put it on the root of the sd card on my computer then I just go to hboot and it'll start it's thing

okay going into hboot.

When I re-flash I gotta then take off the pg05 thing right? the 400mb ?

edit: couldnt go into hboot, i held the power and the volume down, and it didnt work

uhh guys I selected wipe cache partition in clockwork mod and basically the screen just stays black?

edit:oooooooh... myyyyyyy..... godddd :) TESLA COIL IS SO FRIGGIN BEAUTIFUL !!!

edit: hey rem does tesla coil only have 5 homescreens or can I add more?

Just flashed it. I love the clean look of the rom :D

Seems very snappy, I'll update on the battery life after I had a chance to run it for a while.

I just installed 1.7.1

What does the update and new radio do? The rom seems to be running great, so if the updates are optional, I might hold off for now.

If you're already on 1.7.1 (with the HTC Lockscreen 'fix') then yeah, everything else is optional. Myself, I'm in a 3G-only area and have no issues with my radio so I haven't bothered flashing the updated one.

Once you're comfortable with it I definitely recommend checking out the leanKernel thread as Imoseyon has made a ton of tweaks and updates to this since the v1.11 that's included with the ROM.

@Iceycold
I replied to your PM but yes, there are only five homescreens. Sense spoils us with those two extra. ;) You'll have to use a third-party launcher to add more.

I can't leave a good thing alone....I've been thinking of trying the tesla coil for S&G one of these days myself.
I am very, very happy with BAMF...but what the hey...why not.
A simple backup and restore if I don't like it...right? :)

I like this attitude.
Honestly I'm thinking of switching from Tesla to BAMF here soon, just out of curiosity. I mean, I'm fairly certain I'll come back to it (especially now that the devs are talking about an update) but - well, why the hell not? This is the fun part!

I'm in that same boat, since rooting I've only had bamf remix which is awesome & easy to use, but I've been wanting to branch out to see how the other roms work. I keep looking at the screen shots & just don't like the way they look compared to bamf. I'm sure once CM7 is done, that'll get me off the fence

Lasted 10 minutes...if that.

First off, this is my company work phone first, personal toy second.

Email, calendar and contacts are 100% critical. The rest is gravy.

The default email handler (which I use Active Sync via Exchange) is very similar in layout to the Enhanced Email Client I looked at a while ago. I simply do not like the layout.
Nor do I feel I should have to download another client, etc. to make it work for my needs.
(I know all about Touchdown, K9, DroidMail, etc.).
I organize my mail by many sub folders of my inbox and sent items. They normally have the same name.
When you go into folders on the email program, they are next to each other in the list with no way to distinguish sub folder of inbox or sent items.

Now...I know what some of you are thinking. Big Deal, I don't use my phone for work, or that wouldn't bother me.

By all means, it took 10X longer to download than wipe cache/dalvik and install. (Yes, I'm in LTE as well..lol) Please try it yourself. Please come to your own conclusion.

It just wasn't my particular cup of tea....

(A major driving force was the work of Imoseyon on this ROM. I love his Kernals and his work...not to say I don't love the BAMF team's work too. They've all had a beer on me.)

Just my independent observation....

I can definitely understand this being a deciding factor. My phone is probably 95% personal toy and 5% work tool - obviously makes a huge difference. I don't get a ton of work email so I just have it set to forward to Gmail, and the Business Calendar app covers my needs there.

Was it HTC email that you were using before? I see at the top of the Tesla thread that there's an add-on you can flash to get it back, if that's the case.

I didn't see that...and I probably should have. To be honest...I've used the Droid type interface before (a la Motorola) and I really like Sense.

Tesla felt very un-senselike, and I'm sure it's on purpose. You either love or hate Sense.

I'm all for it....which probably means CM7 won't be to my liking either.

I hear so many good things about CM7 for any other phone it's compatible with, so if I'm gonna go senseless, that's the one I'm goin with

Exactly - Tesla is categorized as de-Sensed and is supposed to be a holdover for those waiting for a true AOSP ROM. This is why it piqued my interest, actually. I'd been using Sense for a year (had the Incredible before this) and while I really do love it, it was just time for something new. :)

I agree, I LOVE the BAMF REMIX ROM.....I flashed the telsa coil last night.....it is a good ROM, but I perfer the estetics of BAMF.....so I restored back to..guess the OP should flash it try it and see if they like it. ROM's are a personal taste thing, try many, like few, love even less....

So far so good, reminds me of Liberty for the X, I'm sure I'll try a few others till CM7 come out but I think this is going to be my daily driver.

This phone has an incredible development community already in just two months. The more choices the better, but I haven't felt the need to try a different Rom. I've been with BAMF since it's inception and I've never had one major problem with it. Until I do, then maybe I'll try something different.
