Anyone using a camera replacement app, Swiftkeys, anything like that? I'm not that familiar with whats out there, and didn't know how some of those apps compared to what comes stock on the Nexus. Thanks for any advice or opinions!

Re: Anyone using any 'replacement' apps? Like Swiftkeys, camera,

Hi and welcome to the forums. Im not to much of an aftermarket keyboard app using guy, so Im sticking with the ICS keyboard right now since it seems to be fine for me. If your into Swype, I hear there working on a beta to come out by the end of the month for ICS. So you can be on the look out for that. Never used aftermarket camera apps honestly. Im suprised with ICS. Everything Stock seems to be pretty top notch in my book.

Again welcome!

I'm the same way. The only nonstock item I have is Fancy Widgets and I have is setup up so it looks like it could be stock.

My mom uses Smart Keyboard I think. She's not used to a completely touchscreen phone so she needed something besides the stock Thunderbolt keyboard. I gave her my Thunderbolt before Christmas and after installing Smart Keyboard, she loves it.

I don't use the camera enough to worry about other camera apps.

I am a fan of SwiftKey X. Picked it up during the $0.10 sales and have enjoyed the predictive text that learns based on your typing tendencies

Swype is working already, I'm actually using it now. Just download the apk, install it, and you're good to go. There are also a bunch of themes out for it as well.

I use Swiftkey X, CamaraZoom FX and TouchPal Dialer to enhance the otherwise strong phone.

I use Paper Camera it isnt a replacement app but it basically makes the pics you take look painted or drawn. It is fun and works great.

I always used swiftkey on my previous devices but I found the stock keyboard to be really nice and haven't felt the need to switch to swiftkey. Besides I hate the dark swiftkey themes.

I use Swiftkey and love it. I find it to have the best predictive engine available.

If you're good at typing on phones it might not matter to you. I'm not, so this is really valuable to me and saves me a lot of time.

I use swiftkey X since i like having the long press shortcuts for symbols on the keyboard and the black and blue theme looks gorgeous with the ICS colors. I also use Folder Organizer to create folders with custom icons. For example the icon for my games is a video game controller. I also have Fancy Widgets and Beautiful widgets but currently not using them. I am using Digital Clock app on my home screen since i dont like the analog clock in ICS.

Swiftkey, though dictation is better on the stock keyboard.
Android pro widgets look pretty good on it, love the calendar on that.
BeWeather has a solid clock weather widget

I'm using Swype as well. Really like it on my Bionic I had brieftly, was glad to see the dev community was able to get it working for Gnex ahead of the "official" beta version being released. Tried SwiftKey X when it as $.10, but kept trying to Swype half the time when texting lol.

Where do you get the themes for Swype?? I don't even see an option to select those in the settings menu for the Swype keyboard.....

I'm using a themed Swype and love it!

where are you guys downloading the swype app?

Re: Anyone using any 'replacement' apps? Like Swiftkeys, camera,

Just Camera Zoom FX. Stock KB is better than SwiftKey IMO.

+1 for Swiftkey X. I've tried a dozen keyboards over the years but nothing compares to the predictive capabilities of Swiftkey X. If you want to reduce your keystrokes dramatically, and I mean dramatically, use this product. In fact, it's so good at reducing keystrokes they have statistics showing how many keystrokes you've saved. This is worth any penny.

I use both Swiftkey and Swype depending on what I'm doing. I prefer Swiftkey for short quick input like text messages and search queries, and Swype for substantial input like long emails.

I haven't replaced my camera app as it's quite good, but have added others like Paper Camera for those moments when I desire some special effects.
