I set it up, and when the call goes to voicemail, it says "We could not complete your call, please try again." I thought it might be a server issue, so I've tried it the last 3 days, but it's always the same.

Is it working for anyone?

i have it set up.. set it up yesterday... maybe you put in the wrong phone number?.. i did jsut set it up to take care of my voicemail.. so i kept my old phone number it just forwards voice mail calls to the google voice mail part...

Thanks for the confirmation! Yeah, I have to be doing something wrong. I've checked the settings a hundred times. I'll keep looking. Maybe I'll try an uninstall/reinstall. I tested it by using a landline to call my cell and it does ring my cell, but when I let go to voicemail I get that generic message. In the google voice web control panel, I set up my name and message greeting, and the registered phone number is my cell phone. It has a different number for google voicemail access. I assume that's the assigned google number that it's suppose to forward to. When I call that number, I get the same "could not complete your call" message.

i set mine up all through the web page (voice.google.com) before i ever installed the app on my phone... at one point i had to type in a *400#something string into the phone so it knew what numebr to forward my voice mail to.. but if your using a number they gave you i'm not sure how it would work...

Yeah I did have to call that number string also. That activates forwarding to google's voicemail server. Without doing that, it will go to AT&T's voicemail. There's another set of numbers you can call to deactivate the forwarding to google.

I did find a problem. In the google voice app on my phone, under settings, I hit "sign out." Then I hit the Voice app again and it started the setup process over again. It asks about making international calls, and then it says it will now try to configure the voicemail and it says it does not always work. I hit "configure" and then it asks what voice service to use, "google voice" or "my carrier." I hit "google voice" and it goes back a screen and highlights the Help Center. There I can only hit "skip" or "configure" again. There must be some problem with my area.
