Trying to activate a project Fi Sim in slot 2. Having no luck yet. Any ideas? Entered the project fi apn settings, should I try entering Tom? As of now I can't text or call with the project Fi Sim .

Project Fi is for Nexus and Google devices only. Axon 7 won't work on that network.

Yes it will. Im using it. What you have to do is activate the sim card BEFORE putting it in your verizon phone and the Verizon phone MUST BE UNLOCKED. You can activate yourcard Either on another nexus or pixel device with your account, or on a computer. I was tired of verizons BS, so after 24 years, I decided to try another carrier. I was so intrigued by reviews of project fi, that i bought a nexus 5x to try project fi. I loved it. I received better reception in most places, and speed was just as fast. I sold the 5x and bought a pixel. Its nice, but way overpriced and overrated. So i have a fi sim in my VERIZON GALAXY S7 EDGE. It works just fine BUT, you won't switch networks. You'll stay tied to T-Mobile online. In order to take full advantage of fi's switching ability, you must use a nexus or pixel device. But, yes, you can use an unlocked verizon phone on fi as long as the sim was already activated. Im doing it, and if you go to the carrier forums, and go to fi, you'll see many other people doing it. It is also very cost effective as you only pay for what you use.

I have seen a few post saying it is compatible. Just limited to a t-mobile connection.

If I may ask, where did you get your fi sim card? Do you have a Google device? What I did was take advantage of googles 5x sale at 199.00. And I activated and after using it on the 5x for a few weeks, I put it into my S7 EDGE. I put the 5x up for sale on ebay, and got more than what I paid for it. I bought the pixel and am using it as my main device right now and ordered a "data only" sim card for the S7 EDGE. Works beautifully. If I want the S7 EDGE for my main phone, I just switch cards. By the way, even if you have a data only sim in your phone, you can still make calls with hangouts dialer. Cool

I just ordered the Sim from Google, not sure I want to buy another phone just to activate the Sim. How does one go about activating the Sim online? But again I'm using the Axon 7, it isn't a Verizon device. I'm using a Verizon sim in the phone now though.

Im assuming you have a fi account. When you get your sim, cantact support and ask them to activate it. Once your fi sim is activated, your axon 7 will work on fi but will only connect to T-Mobile towers.

I've plugged my Fi sim into all my Blackberries (curve 8900, torch 9800, Passport, etc), and got service.

Edit: this is in reply to the post that stated Fi only works with pixel and nexus phones.

I was able to activated the Fi via ProjectFi app installed on Axon 7. I made a call and received a call. However, I was not able to send or receive text messages. But I didn't play around with the settings as much.

Hmmmm, interesting because your texts follow your phone number. Did you port your number to project fi?
My Fi is still active and had used it with my Nexus 6P for months. I gave my 6P to my son. This is the same Fi SIM I have.
