I ordered the Cheotech QI Quick charger from Amazon and got it today and was excited to use it. But I am a little curious about it though.

First off, like others have said, the phone does get pretty hot when it is charging. I know quick charge can heat the phone, but the wall charger doesn't get the phone nearly as hot. I'm just a little concerned that heating up the phone like that when charging could have long term negative effects on the phone.

I know a standard QI charger would take maybe an hour longer to charger the phone than the quick charger, but wouldn't you think it would add some longevity to the lifespan of the phone? Also I think a slower charge would put less strain on the battery when charging.

Also does the Cheotech charger have a fan in it like the Samsung charger? If I place my ear close to it when in use I can hear something that almost sounds like buzzing.

Other than that, how does everyone else like their's?

I just sent mine back to Amazon today.

It made my Note 5 so hot while charging I was fearful it might damage the phone or fry something inside. I was really concerned with long term effects on the phone. I only used it twice, and although my phone is running alright, I'm just paranoid about something getting fried in it.

I finally got my free Samsung charger in the mail, actually like most people I received two of them. They may not be fast chargers, but I don't mind it taking a little bit longer to charge just as long as it doesn't heat up my phone like the Cheotech did.

There were a couple times when I was overnight charging with the Choetech and I noticed that my phone was extremely hot. The battery stats from the GSam battery monitor app showed that the phone got hottest after reaching 100% and was trickle charging. On a couple occasions, it reached 43 degrees Celsius. To the company's credit, when I contacted them with my concerns, they were extremely responsive and quickly sent me a replacement.

I'm actually just using my wall adapter from my Note 3 to power the Choetech. It's no longer fast charging, but the phone doesn't heat up at all. Usually remains around 30 degrees Celsius. When I need to fast charge, I just plug in my phone.

I am using the choetech fast charger and have no issues. I like it a lot. It really had a learning g curve as to where I have to place the phone but I got it now. I keep a case on my phone. I have not had any issues with it getting hot or overheating. It gets a little warm but never what I would call hot.

Choetech been good, Spigen makes a desk charger working flawless for those who don't care about fast charge, charges just fine overnight with daydream active.

Mine from Amazon for $25 has been amazing. It has 3 coils and I have never noticed a hot phone :)

Just got one today and it didn't work. Disappointed.

From Amazon?

Mine worked for 8 days then stopped. I just simply asked for an exchange and they sent it with two day shipping.
I'm about to send the old one back now. I'm giving it one more shot. Now what's strange is that the old one (the one
that stopped working) didn't get my phone hot, but this new one does. I know the company mentioned they had a
new batch that came from overseas that"ll work better so that may be what's different as well.
