Anyone using Yahoo Messenger app? Having problems?

Has anyone with an X downloaded the new Yahoo Messenger app? If so, is it working for you? Mine was working well for about a day but the last two times I've signed in, it shows all my contacts offline and I knew some of them were in fact online after opening up the program on my desktop PC. I'm also not getting any messages from contacts who say they're messaging me, and they're not getting any of mine when I try sending them out.

You're using the official Yahoo app, correct? Or a generic one from the Market? This my only complaint with the phone so far, but obviously it's an app issue and not a phone issue. I have lots of contacts on yahoo and have only converted a handle of them over to GTalk. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app several times but still no luck. No messages are getting through in either direction.

I noticed similar feedback from other users in the Market who's tried this app.

I know I could try eBuddy but I heard that has its glitches too and is a battery hog.

Ok - I only asked because there seems to be weird issues with Yahoo email on WiFi. I thought maybe messenger was the same way.

You're right about these Messenger apps being battery hogs. Mostly, because they require a lot of data connectivity.

*Update*

Problem solved...I guess my phone and/or yahoo was just being finicky. After uninstalling and re-downloading 7 or 8 times, Messenger is now working for me both on WiFi and 3G. 8th time was a charm!
