Anyone worried?!?!?!?!

I thinking and hoping that HTC prepped the phone to upgrade to newer versions of Android, look at the Nexus One users with Froyo, they feel they have a new phone from a firmware update. And with all the bells and Whistles we get with our EVOs such as 4G, Mobile 4G HotSpot HQ YouTube, Snapdragon 1 GHz, 720p Recording, Sense. I Know I will be happy with my purchase for a long time. And if you're already bout thinking bout whats next, then you're just setting your self up to be disappointed with your EVO 4G. I know Im gonna be happy and if something else comes along then ok.

Thank you for the substantive input.

Please continue this thread.

Ok here is my input.

I have several hobbies ranging from cars, to computers to cell phones, etc. Every single time a new product is coming out there are a handful of people that say "yeah im not getting this im gonna wait for XYZ cause it will be better in this and that way". And guess how many devices/cars/parts/phones/random gadgets those people buy? Zero. They never buy anything because they are always anticipating the next product.

They are either posers and pretending they are too cool for school because they can't actually afford any of it, or they are just really ignorant enough to not realize that new and better products coming out is the natural progression of technology and consumerism.

It gets insanely annoying to see it time and time again, and in the end noone else cares if some random person wants to wait on the next device.

I'll enjoy my Evo from this friday until who knows when. If something else comes out better and I feel like I need it, i'll buy it.

Umm..how long have iPhone users been holding on to the same device? With so many free Apps on the EVO, and the hardware being the VERY best to date, why won't we be able to hold on to the Evo for just as long?

and, once froyo comes to this phone, it will be "like a new phone" once again...
do people actually "worry" about this kind of stuff?

I've been waiting years for my iPhone to have

4.3" Screen

Hotspot

Faster Internet

Adobe Flash

LED Message Light

Replaceable Battery

The new iPhone is not out yet, but I don't think it will have what I want.

Not too worried as I may ("may" is the keyword here, though) only keep mine for the 30 days and will return to my trusty Pre.

But to the OP, that's just the nature of the game. Don't get yourself too worked up about it and enjoy it!

For six months. :p

As many people have pointed out, that's just technology. Yes there will be a better phone out and yes it will be awesome. Deal with it, if you keep waiting for the best thing, you will keep waiting.

I have 3 phones on my plan. My girlfriend and my mother could careless about smart phones, past phone calls and texting. so when something new comes out, I can upgrade their phone to myself, and give whoever my old phone. I currently have a Treo Pro, and have had it for 1 year and 4 months, its the longest I have kept a phone. right now all three lines are eligible for the full upgrade. So i am ready for the next latest and greatest, lol.

Its going to happen, thats just how technology works. And when they bring out new 4g phones that are superior to the EVO and don't charge them a $10 premium data charge I imagine more than a few here will be a bit peeved at Sprint.

i think we are hitting diminishing returns from here on out. maybe faster, but cant get much bigger, features will work better, but wont have the WOW factor. my opinion...

Trust me, the evo is a technology that will last, its 4g that concerns me if they switch to lte. You have the lastest android software on a snapdragon processor and 4g just got started on a large 4 inch screen and dual camera. This phone is what's to come the next year or two until we have probably 3d gaming or 1080p hdtv. Ask yourself, is a windows xp pentium 4HT as good as. A core i3 on windows 7 figuratively speaking. 2 years ago I bought a dual core toshiba 2ghz laptop with 4gig ram 64 bit. Nothings changed except price lowered for these new i5 and i7. And I loaded windows 7 on mine too. Computer worked great till RS repair messed it up now I'm looking at a dell with an i5 for 900 bucks

Basically just think of the evo as a 64 bit computer

Also to state that if I kept my htc mogul. It would have done the same thing as my tour except gsm and that was 3 years ago.

Htc mogul- windows 6.1 2megapixel camera rev a
Htc touch pro- better camera and htc sense
Htc touch pro 2- gsm capabilties and windows 6.5

Not much improvement if you ask me for a sprint user

This. With the Evo they have given us all the features we want, other phones will just improve on them. Still can't wait, though.
