Anyone's Battery Life Getting BETTER?

thats odd that auto brightness is killing all of you.. my battery life drained when i turned it off and got significantly better when i turned it back on.. plus the droid has an amazing resolution that i love see the full potential of

when you turned it off, what setting did you keep it at?

yes, the droid has an amazing screen, but indoors anything over 30% or so hurts my eyes as i find it to be too bright.

i'm also a person who doesn't keep my tv's, monitors, and laptop screens at 100% brightness too though

Mine is not getting better... it's definitely worse than my Storm. I'm quite disappointed with battery ice, actually. I really need to get a slightly higher mAh battery... like what seidio has in development, apparently.

I find that hard to believe lol but if it's true you got a BEAST for a battery on your Storm! Lol. My Storm battery life was atrocious!

I think the Storm was pretty hit or miss. I didn't have any issues with Battery life on my Storm. I will say that my Droid doesn't last me quite as long as my Storm did, but it still gets me through the day which is good enough for me. A large portion of battery consumption tends to be the display.

I have to agree, that my battery life has gotten better over the last few days. I haven't done anything different than I had before. Still using advance task killer, etc. Just noticed that after about 18 hours of use I had about 30% of battery left. Last night after the same amount of time, I had 70% left. I had already adjusted the screen brightness, yada yada yada.

At first I thought it was an error, and that it couldn't be that high, so I did turned the phone off and restarted. Being a Storm 1 convert, you get used to that as your first course of action. However all that did was add free memory and battery. I seriously thought something was wrong at that point and was about to return the phone....curse you Blackberry, you have ruined me.....

LOL! Ahh, no one realizes just how much having a phone with a lot of problems can affect you even AFTER you got rid of it until you switch to something that is the complete opposite.

I come into the same habit. It seems like everytime something like that comes along with my Droid, I find myself thinking "Hmm something must be wrong..."

My Storm 2 was a champ when it came to battery life..

Now my Droid on the other hand has been pretty bad.. I've got it set on auto-brightness but will probably (sadly) have to change it to just a low brightness setting for all the time -- just like I had to do with my jailbroken 3GS.

Okay so I just noticed myself that at least it SEEMS to me that my battery life has improved since the first couple days of owning my Droid. Today I unplugged my Droid from the charger at about 8 in the morning, and here I am just past midnight still looking at 70% battery life, yet I didn't use it any less than yesterday or the day before. And this time last night I was looking at about 30% battery life.

I have found that battery life has been improving over the last few days. I use advanced task killer as well, but I may stop using it since people are reporting better battery life. I believe that at least in the case of the auto brightness, there are bugs with the Android OS. There shouldn't be any reason that the screen dims and brightens 15 times a minute. There's no need for a refresh rate like this and I am almost certain this is why the battery drains faster when the setting is switched on.
