It's South Korean law. Shutter sounds need to be minimum 64db.

In the US, Google "Camera Phone Alert Predator Act".

so quiet video is fine, but single photos aren't. makes sense. /s

guess i couldn't hear it when doing a short video in the store. you know how hard it is to hear subtle sounds in a big box store like BB.

My Note 2 also can take pics silently. seems like BS to have the watch make noise...

That law was not enacted in the US. it was presented in 2009.

I think there are apps on the Gear Store exactly for this... Take "pics" without making sound... Although they just take "screen-grabs" lol
