I would like to hear some feedback from those using and how it seems to be affecting their battery life. Did you use the phone before turning on aod, and if so, how much difference in sot and total battery life. And , yes, I know it's very early to know but we can start comparing experiences as we get more time in with our new phones.

I guess we should also add what phone we have as that will make a big difference. I will turn on aod tomorrow morning when I take the phone off the charger.

I'll be using an s8.

I have had a lot of people use AoD and they swear it doesn't mess with battery much at all. The reason due to this is because it only lights up the pixels it needs versus firing up the whole screen just to display it.

I disabled the infinity wallpaper thing. In my opinion, it was too many lit pixels for my AoD . Now it's just clock and notifications. Also disabled home button marker. It still works , I don't need it to remind me where the home button is. Seems to have negligible impact on battery

I like the infinity wallpapers, but I too changed from it. I want to see some data/testimony on how it impacts battery life. If it proves negligible, I might switch to it, though I'm growing fond of the wallpapers I've been rotating.

On the S7 edge, it consumed about .5% per hour of battery life. I did tests with and without the AOD on. It probably wouldn't be much different with the S8. If I ever get my S8+, I'll test it again.

Just like I said yesterday I could hit the 5 hr mark on my S8 and I did just that on day 2.

Battery life is great on my s8+, much better than on my s6 edge plus.

Most probably because the s6 edge + has a Non-removable Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery.

And the s8+ has a Non-removable Li-Ion 3500 mAh battery and a better optimised chipset.

And as your new s8+ won't be full information and data , redundant files etc which we all naturally pick up along the away.

I am experiencing the same results. Much more impressed with the battery life of the S8+ compared to the S6E+.

It's a nice feature but I don't use it. I value my battery conservation. It's informational value isn't worth even a minimal power drain.
