I kinda doubt its this simple, maybe someone here who has a good knowledge of this stuff can tell me. Since the Sprint and Verizon Galaxy Nexus is identical hardware wise couldn't you flash an AOSP rom from a verizon gnex and then flash the sprint radios? I been doing some looking around and I don't see why this wouldn't work but I don't see that it would. I know I have mistakenly flashed a Verizon Gnex rom on my Sprint Gnex and it booted and worked just didn't have any network connection to Sprint. I would ask this on other forums but I would get told how stupid I am and blah blah blah. I just figured someone here had some knowledge they could share as to why or why not this wouldn't work and maybe explain without telling me how much of an idiot I am lol

Supposedly Samsung/Sprint have driver binaries they won't give to anyone that allow for their radio frequencies to work with the new JB build of Android. Until they stop being pricks, the Sprint GNex will not get AOSP certification.

Soooo does this mean the sprint version will not get jelly bean OTA or is that still happening and unrelated to the AOSP?

It means while the other Gnex's on other carriers get updates as soon as they are finished...like JB, Sprint's version will not. Sprint/Samsung have to do thier thing first before an OTA will occur and it could be weeks or even months before customers can lick the back of thier phone and get a taste of stamp glue JB's.

So basically if you're on Sprint, getting a Nexus means nothing. You still have to wait on the carrier for your upgrade! ugh. Should have gotten the EVO LTE to replace my OG EVO.

No, it will still get JB just not as soon as it's released.
