I recently traveled to the Caribbean and prior to leaving i got my Note 3 unlocked from Sprint I'NTL customer care - or so they said.

Once i was abroad, i bought a card from wireless carrier - LIME, which i have also brought back to the states. Upon installing the International SIM, i noticed that NOTE 3 was working fine when it came to voice calling and picked up the network once i switched to GSM mode. However, DATA did not work.

Per Sprint's email regarding my phone Unlock - i was told once i was abroad, I should install international SIM and be connected to Wifi, then go under settings>>General>>systemupdate>>UICC Unlock.... this will update the profile and prompt for unlock -- Much to my surprise this DID NOT WORK... got an error message while i was connected to Wifi stating Update Error.

Since i had similar issue with iPhone 4s in India back in 2011, i knew that local settings inside the phone had to be modified - also known as APN settings for data to work. Upon doing some quick Google search i found this to be true for T-Mobile Note 3.... see link - Connections & network: Samsung Galaxy Note 3 | T-Mobile Support - half way down T-Mobile refers to APN settings.

However, these settings were no where to be found on the Sprint Note 3 settings tabs. Has anyone else encountered this issue? and if so, how was this resolved... luckily, i had my iPhone 4s with me as well which i used for the last week to find my way around the island.

Any help will be much appreciated... thanks again!

Upgrade to Jellybean 4.3 and you will find APN settings. I had the same problem with my Galaxy S4 until I upgraded Nov 13 and suddenly there was APN settings available, which was prior not available.
