I have an unlocked HTC One M8 bought in the UK. I live in China.
This morning I got a new China Mobile 4G sim card. I have the APN settings I need, but when I go to enter them they will not save. I input the settings, press save, and it just takes me back to the main APN screen with no saved settings. After many attempts I discovered it is the MNC section that is causing the problems. I can change all the other setting to what I need and it will save fine, but when I change the MNC from 07 (which it is automatically set to for some reason) to 02 it doesn't save.
Interestingly when I put my old China Mobile sim card back in it works just fine and all the settings I put in with my new sim card appear. So can anyone tell me is this is a faulty sim card issue, or something more sinister with my phone?
