App accidentally set to use Samsung Internet.

I was viewing my vaccination record, and there was a google "save to phone" button.

I clicked on it, and it asked which app do I want to use to save? Google Pay or Samsung Internet?

I accidentally selected Samsung Internet.

How do I change it so it does not use Samsung Internet anymore?

The thing is, I don't know what is trying to open in Samsung Internet. I can't figure out what is being redirected to open in Samsung Internet.

I don't want to post a screen shot, since the screen shot would include a QR code that I don't want to share.

Basically I was following this:

https://support.google.com/googlepay/answer/10890261?visit_id=637635236356307326-892082442&rd=1

But when it got to step 3, it asked Google Pay or Samsung Internet, and I chose the wrong one, Samsung Internet.

I figured out how to reset it.

I went to Samsung Internet settings, then app default. Then I did "clear defaults".

Actually I'm still having a few problems.

1). I installed the Google Pay app.

https://support.google.com/googlepa...google-pay-app,if-you-have-the-google-pay-app

These instructions say to launch the Google Pay app, touch the bottom of the screen, and swipe up.

However, at the bottom of the screen, there's just icons for Explore, Pay, or Insights.

And swiping up does nothing.

However, in the upper right corner, to the left of my Google name icon, is an icon of a card.

If I click on that, I get a screen that says Choose A Card To Set Up.

If I don't do anything, but click on the back arrow in the upper left corner, then it takes me to a screen where I can see my vaccination card.

Is there a simpler way to access it? It seems like a lot of clicking, to launch Google Pay; enter my phone password, click on the card icon, then click on the back arrow.

Seems a little easier to go the non Google Pay app route. That's Settings-->Google-->Settings for Google apps-->Google Pay. Then I see my card.

Neither option seems intuitive, but the latter seems easier.

With the Google Pay route, I have to enter my phone password twice. Once after I launch Google Pay; and a 2nd once I tap on my vaccination card.

2). The link above says it's possible to add a shortcut for my vaccination card to my phone's home screen.

This isn't working.

After I open my vaccination card, it says tap more-->save to home.

I don't see a save to home.

I only see Learn More, or Remove, when I click on the 3 dots.

How can I add the shortcut to my device?

If I can't, is it possible to save a screen shot, and create a shortcut from that?

You can reset app preference in settings>apps>2 dots upper right corner to get the option for Google pay and Samsung internet.

Otherwise put the vaccination card in Google drive and then use Google drive widget for that photo on your home screen

This was my digital vaccination card that I got from the CDC, onto Google Pay.

The annoyance is that if I access it directly through the Google Pay app, I have to enter my phone password twice. Once to launch Google Pay, then once more to open my vaccination card.

The instructions on here say to swipe up, but that does nothing.

In the upper right corner, to the left of my Google name icon, is an icon of a card.

If I click on that, I get a screen that says Choose A Card To Set Up.

If I don't do anything, but click on the back arrow in the upper left corner, then it takes me to a screen where I can see my vaccination card.

Then I have to enter my phone password again.

If I go the non Google Pay app route, it takes 5 clicks (Settings-->Google-->Settings for Google apps-->Google Pay-->vaccination card, then phone password).

That's too much.

I ended up taking a screen shot, even though my QR code is cut off a little bit.

But I don't like adding things to the home screen.

Is it possible to add a shortcut to a screen shot within "Apps"?

If not, I guess I will just make the screen shot easy to find, in my main device directory.

Can try making it photo in emergency contact information page but since this the Note 4 I'm not sure it's available on it , been long time since I used that device.

It seems like it's possible.

BUT:

I don't see how to do this:

" Add emergency contacts »

I don't see how I can add an emergency contact, that option doesn't appear there.

Also, in the section about saving medical information, I don't see this:

Click on " Medical info »

I don't see Medical Info.

It does look like I have 1 Emergency Contact:

ICE - emergency contacts

911

But, when I unlock my phone in normal mode, I don't know how to find this. I can only find it when I go to Emergency Call, then bring up the contacts list.

On my Note 20 it's in the contact app , you see anything there?

If I go to Contacts-->Groups, I see an "ICE - emergency contacts" group.

I can then add a contact to that group.

Two problems:

1). It needs a phone number. I can't save a new contact without one. I don't know what to put for a vaccination card.

2). I don't see how to add an image file, among the available fields.

Do you see something like this ?
It might be on the newer phonesScreenshot_20210805-145750_Contacts.jpg

Thanks for the screen shot.

No, I don't see something like this.

Under contacts, I do see something called "My Info", which has my phone number auto-populated and grayed out.

But even that, doesn't have a medical info section.

Other than that, I can create an "Emergency Contact" itself, as a new type of contact, but it needs a phone number. And again, it doesn't have a Medical Info section.

Ok, given all that's progressed, and how I don't like adding things to my home screen, and how I can't create a shortcut within the "Apps" for this vaccination card screen shot file, can anyone think of any other alternatives?

I think if not, I'll just create a folder on my device and store the screen shot there. That should give me reasonably quick access, and also not require a phone password to open itself (which gets annoying).

Thanks for everyone's time.

You could create the screen background of the vaccination cert, then use the s-pen option to "screenwrite" and draw a line on the screen background. Close the S-pen app and the vaccination card screen background will be saved in the gallery. Then delete the screen background.
As a PS contacts do not require a number. Just filling the name is sufficient. See attached

Thanks for the suggestion.

I've ended up saving a screen shot of my vaccination card, in an easy to find folder. I've then just pulled up that screen shot, and it's been sufficient, for when I need to show it to gain entry into events.
