Is there an app to get your full qwerty keyboard on the phone dialer screen? i've seen another post about dialing from various places. but i like hitting Phone and typing the name there. yes i know about the T9 way of typing the name. just makes it easier to use a full keyboard since that what i use on every other part of the phone.

No way to do this, that I'm aware of. You could just hit the search button and type in the name.

I took the people app off of my home screen and replaced it with search people, it is a much easier way to pull up contacts

Not to be an ass, but how is it easier to dial three letters on a qwerty vs. dialing 3 letters on a T9?

Especially considering you would have to hit two keys to bring the qwerty up every time you wanted to do this.

I, too, was "uncomfortable" looking at the T9, but if you ignore that it looks different and hit the three keys you end up in the same place.

true there are less buttons to fiddle with. but i'm just so used to qwerty. its been a LONG time since i used T9. plus it would be nice to have 26-key speed dial for each letter like i did on my BB Tour. That's a whole lot more useful than speed dial 1-9.

to dial from the phone screen, you don't have to enter the name you are looking for like you would normally in T9, just type it as if the letter you need is the first one of the key and the phone will start to populate with possibles.

ie: to dial "mary" you just hit 6279 and it will find it, even if normally "r" would take 3 presses of 7 and "y" would take 3 presses of 9.
