You know what? The long awaited widget is finally available in ShutApp now (version 1.11)!
You can know exactly and instantly about the number of background apps from your homescreen and stop them in one tap.

Don't know HOW TO ADD SHUTAPP WIDGET? Look here:
1. Long press on home screen to bring up a list of options.
2. Touch ‘Widgets’ from the list of choices.
3. Find ShutApp widget, press and hold it.
4. Drag the widget onto your home screen.
