Just got a wifi version and trying to get the same apps on the tab as my Droid incredible. The market says they are already installed. How do I get them to install on the tab since the market is recognizing only my phone. They are all free Apps.

I believe the market shows apps for your Market account, not specific devices. This is one thing I hope they address.

Some apps don't show up in the market on the Wifi Galaxy tab. In order to get these apps on your Tab you can google the app name + apk. You should be able to find a download for the apk. Connect your tab to a computer and mount it as a usb. Drag the apk to your tab (where you can find it). Next make sure you have the setting to allow "unknown sources" apps to be installed (checked). This is under settings > applications. Then use a file explorer on the tab (Astro or estronge) to find the apk. Click on it and it should walk you through the install.

First, make sure you signed up to your Google account when you first set up your tab. Then, sign into your account as you've already done. Go to My Market Account. Click on the Settings Tab. Make sure you name your new device (I call mine My G Tab). Now, go back to the Orders tab. They apps will show here. Click on an app. Then, click on Installed. You'll get an option to Send to Another Device. Select the new device. Voila, you're done. It'll be sent to your tablet. I just went through this last week.

All apps will not fit correctly on your tablet, but there is a third party app that will help with resizing to the new resolution. I forget the name of this app as I haven't had a need for it as most of my 150 apps are sized just right. Search the forum and you may find that answer if you need it.

I hope this helps.

Tried this. Can't find where on the device to rename the device. It will only show my Dinc's apps in the market.

Did you do the two most important steps from my directions?

1-Sign into Google when you go through the setup on your device (meaning setup your email on it).

2-at http://market.android.com, sign in. Go to My Market Account. Click on the Settings Tab. Your device won't show there if you didn't perform step 1 from above. If you can get here, then click on the help above labeled Don't See Your Device? .
