I have a 16 gb S3 and a 64 gb microSd. All of my media is installed on the ExtSd. My question: When you install apps, are they installed to the internal SD (which I currently have about 9 gb free) or are they installed to system memory like other phones (HTC Evo comes to mind)?

Yes mate. All apps are installed to the internal memory if your running jelly bean. When it was ice cream sandwich you could install to the card I think. I have no idea why they took away that feature.

This phone has NEVER allowed you to put apps to the sdcard. It has to do with the mtp protocols most new phones use.

That's always what I thought, but looking at my screen shot, I've used 1.96 gb for applications and I have 8.84 gb still available. Can I use all of that for installing applications?

Edit: Or am I going to run out of application space in .04 gb?

There is not a 2gb limit on this phone. It's not going to stop loading apps.
