Now working!
I revoked permission and uninstalled, rebooted and re installed.
Followed setup tutorial setting volume up button first and setting default.
When I tried to set volume down the camera launched and I could not set to default but I could still set the torch to volume up and this time it remains on until i press volume up again, THANK YOU!!
Spoke to soon, when the light goes off I have to hold the up button again to get it to come on again. It will sometimes stay on sometimes not.
I've just installed this app and absolutely love it! One problem I have found though is that I cannot complete the setup steps for the volume down button. I lock my phone and then hold volume down until the buzz, then unlock the phone. Instead of the action choice menu appearing I just get the camera.

Thanks for the feedback.
If you are on Android 5.0, the volume down key shortcut will not work as it has been disabled by LG. In 4.4.2 it should work fine, although some users (mostly using AT&T variants) have mentioned that volume down isn't working for them.

I use the optional home button at the bottom of the home screen for the 'capture+' function to create a screenshot that you can mark up with notes.
After the marshmellow update this button now turns the light on. When I disable the up button function in the Key Plus app, then home button doesn't do anything but turn the screen off.
I'm guessing that something about the way LG has mapped the up volume button to the 'Capture +' note function has possibly interfered here?
EDIT: I now notice that this optional home screen button now initiates whatever app you have selected to activate in the KeyPlus app. In lolipop this was not the case. The home screen button for capture+ worked correctly, but now this button activates whatever you have set in KeyPlus to bind to the up volume button.

Did you do something special @Pedalbflat? I can't get it to work on my LG G3 D855 Marshmallow
If your phone got updated to Marshmallow, make sure QuickMemo+ is also updated. Open your phone Settings -> About phone -> Update Center and see if QuickMemo+ has an update. Once updated, Key Plus should work just fine.
