App Notification sound all the same

I have noticed with the s9 that I can set my text and email notification sound but now all my apps like Snapchat, kik, Device security scan pretty much every app has the same notification sound with the s9 and android 8 and you cannot change the sounds. It is set from the main notification setting. Is there anyone that knows a way to get this back to the way it was with previous phones.. it's annoying when you get a notification but don't know what app its from

If an app does not have a setting that allows you to pick a custom notification tone then it will use the default one you set in the phone settings

@lucianus_luciferus - It's been my experience since upgrading to Oreo that even apps that have the ability to set a tone (theScore is a great example) still end up using the default even after choosing a custom tone.
