Anyone concerned with how a lot of the apps will look on the super sharp Galaxy Nexus (or whatever the hell it's called today) screen? Even on my Thunderbolt, there are a lot of games (Plants vs. Zombies, Fruit Ninja, and others) that look pretty bad. With an even better screen it would probably be even more noticeable. Is it possible to upgrade the graphics of a game easily? In other words, can we expect to see these games get truly optimized for the next Nexus' screen?

Since ICS is honeycomb+ prime users will see all the tablet apps in the market. These are designed for bigger screens so should should be just fine.

Not sure I believe that. A tablet app on a phone screen, not matter how big, would be an exercise in frustration....unless somehow they are required to adapt to screen size, but in that case they aren't tablet apps when running on a phone anyway.

Correct. Though Google asked developers not to long ago to make their tablet apps so they can function on a smaller screen. How well it works ans if they follow through remains to be unseen.

The idea of ICS is to allow developers the ability to adjust to different size screens, whether they do it, or do it correctly, is up to them.

In addition to the developer stating what OS their app is optimized for there is a flag for screen size. My bet would be that many of the tablet apps are only flagged for xlarge screens and will not immediately run on ICS on a phone.

In an ideal situation a developer would implement fragments into their activities of their applications. For example, on a tablet (or xlarge screen) one fragment takes up the left side of the screen and the other fragment can be dynamically assigned to the right side. This same setup on a phone would have the first fragment taking up the entire screen on a phone, and the second fragment would act just like a seperate activity where it also takes up the whole screen when called.

This new type of development will surly take time to optimize for, and frankly I'm a little worried about diving head first into this new world just like I did with my Xoom on day 1. But I love my Xoom and will love the Prime.

Having both apps in one package is ideal to me. Specially if its a paid app you can't have two separate versions. Take a look at Words With Friends on a phone and the same app on Honeycomb, its the perfect example of one app optimized for either depending on screen size.

Android allows for optimization of different platforms very simply when designing an app, its up to the developer to take advantage of.

Games will probably be harder than most apps, because there is so much custom art.

These apps are designed for 10" screens. Not 4.65" screens. You won't see them, unless the dev has a phone version.

Out of curiosity, why?

This is interesting stuff. So do fragments currently exist within apps in the Android Market? Sorry for being noobish, but are fragments Google's was of combatting all of the various aspect ratios and screen sizes? I know that it can bridge the gap between phone and tablet, but there is so much variety just among those items.
