Ok, this is a message to anyone who is into creating apps for smart phones. I don't know if it's possible or not but I have a great idea for an App. I've looked online and can't find one that does these specific function.

As I understand it and from my own tests, Lithium batteries perform much better if they are not charged to 100%, "80-85% is best," or left to discharge to below 30%

If some sharp app writing wizard could create an app that could automatically cut off the charge at a user specified setting they'd be sitting on a gold mine!

Like I said, I'm not a programmer but understand most chargers cut off at 100%. Not sure if it's software controllable but thought I'd throw the Idea out there

Hope you don't mind -- I moved this from the Note20 forum to the Developers Lounge, which seems like a better place for it.

Not at all, as I'm still trying to figure out the forum. Usually when you enter a topic a list of areas pops up asking which section it belongs under. I've posted other question only to find someone kindly put it in the right spot!

I used to use a timer for my charger. But before using the timer i had to time how long it takes to go from lets say 0-80 or 20-80 or 60-80. A lot of work but it used to be good enough for me.
