I am soon to make the swtich to Android. I had a Motorola Droid 2 a couple years ago, in its time it was a great device, though Gingerbread had some problems. So I am going to go with the Nexus 4, because i am mid contract and I it is the absolute best value for money at this time.

I am very obsessive with my workflow and I just need to ensure it will be somewhat smooth, so I need some recommendations for apps or app replacements, before I hit purchase.

1. I use calender and reminders on the iPhone. I love how my reminders, agenda and appointments show up in the notifications menu. What do you recommend for me in Android? I deally I can keep the two as widgets on my home page, maybe in a transparent widget, you know aesthetics (this is my main concern). Or maybe Google Now takes care of that? But what is used for Reminders?

2. Best podcasts app?

3. Best RSS reader? I use Feedly and Zite right now.

4. Best photo editing app, you know tweaks and filters, the usually amateur stuff.

5. Best notes app.

Thanks for you help. Hope to be more active in the Android Central Community. I listen to the podcast weekly, though I don?t currently have an Android device.

I don't know about those but I recommend opera mini for your Web browser. It is really fast and smooth.

Well I planned to use Chrome because it has been my default desktop browser for years.. :D Isn?t it good on Android? I mean the benefit of Android is the whole Google sync business, I use Google for just about everything..

For the notes app I use Google Keep. It works great and I have not had any problems with it. For reminders, Google Now got an update so when you access Google now you can just tell Google Now to remind you for whatever it is you need to be reminded of then Google Now will remind you. When you set reminders you can say times and locations for reminders. Works great. Google now is only in the version Jelly Bean 4.1 and up.

I thought I was the only obsessive person when it came to work flow. Anyhow...

My must have is a solution that syncs, tasks, calendar events, and notes with the cloud. I've settled on Google because they do it best.

Google has the calendar built in and its an excellent app. It syncs well to the desktop so changes from your phone sync up on your desktop and vise versa. You also get notifications when an event comes up. You can also get texts and emails. The Android calendar also syncs with Google calendar. Google also has a calendar widget. You can also invite people to meetings.

There are a good many calendar apps that are detached from Google and offer a lot of great features.

I really liked Agenda Widget ,not to be confused with Agenda Calendar Widget, it is excellent widget which has many layouts for calendar and tasks. I stopped using it when i switched to using the app called "Tasks". Today I use a wide that shows my tasks and my calendar.

The best photo editing so is Adobe's PS Touch. I've search high and low here and none compare. For filters and just fun snapspeed works great.

5. Best notes app.
Before my note2 I would have recommended colornote because it has a built in dictionary, it's searchable, and easy to use. But now I pretty much use the s note app because Samsung has integrated this app so well to their product.

For long notes I use office suite.
