app shortcut on lock screen - why still need to unlock?

I set my app shortcut on the lock screen to be the calculator. Why does it require me to unlock the phone though? I thought the point of having an app in the lock screen is to have quick access to it without the security feature. Why does the camera shortcut not need security code?

I'd like the calculator or any other app that I set to not have to unlock the phone. Is there a way? Other 3rd party app?

Thanks in advance

Lockscreen shortcuts are intended to get you into an app quickly from the lockscreen (in two steps - swipe shortcut -> unlock phone, voila!) but they’re not intended as a means to defeat your chosen security method. Otherwise, anyone who picked up your phone could bypass security simply by swiping the shortcuts, and I’m pretty sure that’d be unacceptable to them overwhelming majority of Samsung’s user base.

Set up IRIS scanner, that way you can unlock quickly as you turn on the lock screen and open the shortcut.

Yes. I agree about the security. But why only the camera you are able to get into it and use it without security lock? My Mate 9 had the flashlight, camera, and calculator all available in lock screen and you weren't able to get into the phone to use other apps but those ones.

Ah, now I understand... I sorta agree, but then again, I've never seen such a thing from any OEM but Huawei (I also have an Honor 7X). I guess I'm just used to the way it works on the Galaxy.
