App sound setting keeps changing automatically

I use Next SMS for texting. After awhile, I decided having a sound notification was annoying so I went to Apps under Settings and changed Notification to Silent. All was good until about a week ago when I started getting sound notifications again. Went in and checked and sure enough it had reverted back to Alert. This has now happened constantly over the last week and have no idea why. Has this happened to anyone else? I even checked in the settings in the app and no issues there. Am I missing something?

Did the app get a update? Possibly changed it back from silent to sound .

The sound setting in the app itself has always shown Silent. Under Settings for the phone itself, keeps changing to Alert even though I keep going back and changing to Silent. It is so annoying!

Also, did you try to clear the cache in the app? Sometimes force closing it as well can help.

I think I did that when the problem first started but couldn't hurt to try again. Appreciate the responses. Thanks.

Last resort uninstall and reinstall

More sub menus , look for new messages tap and turn silent sound

There are a few choices but nothing for New Messages. One choice is Default which I am assuming is the same as saying New Messages because that is the one that keeps changing automatically.

I just download the app , looks like you have to go inside the app settings and choose sound or not .

Not like your screenshots. Like attached and all the other choices are set to Silent and never change. The Sound option in the app itself is set to Silent and never changes

Gotcha, then try clearing data catch and force stop , if still happening probably bug for that app
