Hi,

Since older Android versions are not secure anymore, is it wise to develop apps for them?
There are still apps for Android 2.3 or even 2.2. But developing for them with low API numbers has limited functionality, compared to the functionality offered by higher API numbers.
So, what is your choice?

Thanks and best regards.

We have several apps in Google Play Store.
They all supports Android 2.2 and above.

From our statistics, the percent of 2.2 was downloaded our apps is very tiny now, just about 2 or 3 percent.

So, I dont think we should paying too much for 2.x devices.

For our latest we were happy to aim at 4.4+. Installed stats for that were more than high enough that we thought it was worth taking the possible customers out of the pool for avoiding a heck of a lot of possible tech support issues.
