[APP][THEME][WIDGET] Transparent Google Search

Alright...I've tried several different black themed search boxes, and all present the same (but at least it's not the default white theme). I've confirmed rw-r--r-- with system ownership, also fixed permissions from CWM, wiped dalvik and cache, etc. Not sure what else to check, or curiously...where this simple search box comes from (unless that's how it appears when all the other elements are missing).

Here's a screenshot...

Update: I finally figured this out. Seems I have 2 search apps installed, both of which are Google. The first shows up in the app manager as Google Search, the other as Voice Search. Honestly, I don't know the difference...thought they were the same dialogue box. Anyway, I had to wipe the data for both of these...not one, but both of these in app manager. Deleted the GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk in the /system/app directory, leaving only com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox.apk in /data/app. Then I had to reboot, and the Google Search then showed up in my widget list. In addition to that, there's a Search item in the widgets list with the Google "G" in the icon, and this is what I'd been selecting all along. Turns out, it's the wrong one, but prior to wiping data for BOTH search apps in the app manager, deleting the /system apk, and rebooting, I didn't have a second widget choice. Once the "Google Search" widget showed up, I selected it, and the black themed search box appeared.

And the widget in the screenshot....it's the ICS themed widget that must have been installed when I tried an ICS theme for CM7. What I would like to know is....how is it that it and the white default search box's settings persisted through all the "physical" file changes I made? Anybody? (Hmmm...where is the "data" I wiped stored for this dialogue box?)
